A grommet (200, 300, 400), a stud (102), an assembly of a grommet and a stud forming a fastener (100), and a method of assembling a grommet and a stud to form a fastener has the grommet with an interengaging element (250) in a channel wall of the grommet for engaging a cooperating, compatible or complementary interengaging element in a wall of the stud. The grommet and the stud can be assembled by moving the grommet and the stud relative to each other until the interengaging element in the grommet engages the complementary interengaging element in the stud. A family of grommets is described.

CLIPLESS ROOF DITCH MOLDING, ROOF DITCH MOLDING ASSEMBLY THEREWITH AND METHODS OF ASSEMBLY AND CONSTRUCTION THEREOF
20200324715 · 2020-10-15 ·

A roof ditch molding, roof ditch molding assembly, method of constructing a roof ditch molding, and method of assembling a roof ditch molding into a roof ditch of a vehicle are provided. The roof ditch molding includes an elongate metal substrate having an outer surface and an inner surface with opposite edge regions extending along a direction of a longitudinal axis between opposite ends. The inner surface faces and delimits an elongate channel extending between the opposite ends. The opposite edge regions are spaced from one another for snapping receipt of a plurality of fasteners therebetween, thereby eliminating the need for supplemental fastening features to fixedly secure the roof ditch molding within the roof ditch.

Child part including a retention member as a secondary retention feature

A child part to be connected to a parent part is provided. The child part includes a main panel, and a clip tower on a surface of the main panel. The clip tower includes a base to hold a clip and a retention member extending from the base at a direction away from the main panel and bending to form a sloped portion with an angle to the surface of the main panel.

Sidewall panel assembly

A panel assembly that is configured to be secured to a frame that includes a panel having a top and a bottom, a first bracket assembly and a second bracket assembly. The first bracket assembly includes a first pivot member and a first bracket. One of the first bracket and first pivot member is secured to the panel and the other is configured to be secured to the frame. The first bracket includes a slot defined therein that includes a throat and a pivot opening. The throat is defined between first and second throat surfaces and the throat is narrower than the pivot opening. The second bracket assembly includes a second pivot member and a second bracket. One of the second bracket and second pivot member is secured to the panel and the other is configured to be secured to the frame. The second bracket includes a pivot opening.

Pin and grommet fastener accommodating two directional offset and related methods

An inner housing defines a pin retaining receptacle elongated in an X-direction with entry ramps extending parallel to the X-direction. The inner housing is slidably coupled to an outer housing and extends into an interior thereof. A plurality of centering blades extend into the interior and between the inner and outer housings to locate the pin retaining receptacle in a central position within the interior in a Y-direction prior to insertion of the pin into the pin retention receptacle. The centering blades are movable in the Y-direction to permit the pin retaining receptacle of the inner housing to move to a non-central position relative to the housing in the Y-direction as a result of the inner housing moving the centering blades in response to the pin engaging the entry ramps during insertion of the pin into the pin receiving receptacle. Associated methods are also disclosed.

STORAGE DEVICE FIXING BRACKET
20200301484 · 2020-09-24 ·

A storage device fixing bracket includes a bracket and a number of fasteners. Each fastener defines at least one groove. The bracket includes a number of guiding portions. When the fasteners are mounted to the bracket, the guiding portions guide the fasteners to a preset position, and the guiding portions extend into the grooves of the fasteners and respectively contact an inner wall of the grooves. The fasteners abut against a storage device mounted in the bracket to bias the storage device within the bracket.

PLASTIC COMPOSITE BOARD
20200275780 · 2020-09-03 ·

The present disclosure discloses plastic composite board comprising an upper board, a lower board, and a fastener. The lower board supports the upper board. The upper board comprises a panel and a downward edge disposed on a periphery of the panel. The periphery of the panel sinks downward to define a horizontal step surface, and the downward edge extends downward from an outer edge of the horizontal step surface. The fastener comprises a buckle groove. An inner side of the buckle groove defines an opening, and the buckle groove surrounds side portions of the upper board and the lower board to fixedly clamp the upper board and the lower board together. An upper wall of the buckle groove abuts the horizontal step surface, and a top surface of the fastener is lower than a top surface of the upper board.

Modular panel interlocking and reinforcing mechanism for building enclosures
10744419 · 2020-08-18 ·

The modular panel 20 interlocking and reinforcing mechanism for building enclosures pertains to assembling boxes 21 with six of the same or similar modular panels 20 without extra components or connectors. My mechanism joins modular panels 20 by interlocking both grooves 22 attached by living hinges 24 on the panel edges, thus creating the box 21. The embodiment of my mechanism joins modular panels 20 by interlocking both grooves 22 attached by living hinges 24 on the panel edges, thus creating the box 21. The living hinges 24 allow all the grooves 22 to turn forty five degrees at the corners. Upon interlocking both grooves 22 to each other at a forty five degree angle, it completes the ninety degree dihedral angle transition from one panel 20 to another for corners. Another embodiment of my mechanism is to assemble a box 21 in expanded sizes by using the same or similar modular panels 20 without extra accessories. Modular panels are connected side by side to expand the flat surface or transitioning to a ninety degree angle at the box corners. An additional embodiment of my mechanism includes similar sized reinforcing rods 30 embedded in the interlocked grooves 26, which allows them tightly interlock together and strengthen the box 21. One type of the interlocking groove 22 mentioned above is round with a narrower outer opening than the inner width.

FOOD SHIELD WITH EXTENDED SPAN
20200245788 · 2020-08-06 ·

An extended span food shield system including a central beam having at least one hooking surface. The central beam is supported at opposing ends by two support legs. The food shield system further includes at least one clip having at least one hook element and a panel bonded to the clip such that the panel and clip assembly are supported by the central beam when the hook element is engaged with the central beam at the hooking surface. The clip may include a leg extending away from the hook element. Therefore, the leg rests against the central beam when the hook element of the clip is engaged with the central beam at the hooking surface. Thus, the panel and clip assembly may be securely supported by the central beam and held in place by gravitationally applied torque alone.
