CONNECTION NODE FOR MODULAR BUILDING STRUCTURES
A connection node assembly for use in connecting an upper prefabricated building module to a lower module. Hollow vertical edge supports of the building modules have top and bottom connection parts. A connecting bolt can be passed through the top part of an upper vertical support in the upper building module and seated within the bottom part of that vertical support with the shank extending downward. The shank engages a threaded aperture in a connecting nut secured within the top part of a corresponding lower vertical support in the lower building module. Diaphragm plates sandwiched between the upper and lower vertical supports are used to tie horizontally placed modules together.
MODULAR UTILITY SYSTEM
A kit of parts for use in demountably configuring a variety of structural assemblies. A kit may comprise a plurality of cylindrical structural components configured for engagement with various types of male connector components along the sides or at the ends of the cylindrical structural components, there provided for demountable engagement of a female-end socket component at the end of another cylindrical structural component. The kit may additionally comprise components for one or more of roller carriage assemblies and/or one or more of sliding carriage assemblies configured for rolling or sliding movement along rail assemblies comprising a plurality of cylindrical, square, rectangular, or octagonal track components. The rail assemblies may be supported by bases comprising the cylindrical structural components and other components such as weight components, as well as threaded foot components or threaded caster components on which the rail assemblies can be adjustably levelled.
ANGLED THREADED ROD COUPLING HAVING MOUNTABLE PASS-THROUGH COUPLER AND IMPROVEMENTS THEREOF
An angled coupling including a main pass-through coupler to allow a first threaded rod to pass therethrough and a second coupling extending at angle therefrom to receive second threaded rod. The main coupler is configured to be secured to any location on the first threaded rod without requiring it to be screwed onto first threaded rod. The main coupler includes a first half and a second half spaced from each other that can be secured together at desired location on first threaded rod. The main coupler includes an upper section having a first approximately half of body thereof and corresponding threads and lower section having a second approximately half of body, opposite the first half, and corresponding threads. The first threaded rod is retained in both halves by insertion and rotation until the threaded rod snaps in place and kept fixed with retaining clips.
MUSEUM SHOWCASE, HAVING A LOAD-BEARING FRAME COMPRISING TUBULAR BEAMS CONNECTED TOGETHER BY JOINTS THAT HAVE A RATIONALIZED STRUCTURE
This museum showcase comprises a load-bearing frame comprising tubular beams with quadrangular section connected together by at least one joint, and is characterized in that the joint comprises two flat and parallel plates, wherein each plate comprises a middle portion and at least two attachment wings, wherein the two attachment wings of each plate are respectively inserted in a first and a second of the tubular beams and fixed to them. In this way, the showcase can be designed and built in a particularly quick and easy manner. Both the beams and the joints can be made starting from extremely simple and cost-effective semi-finished products (tubes and plates, respectively), with elementary processes, basically simple cuts to the desired sizes.
Tubular Framing System and Method
A Tubular Framing System and Method. The system and method enables users to create structures from tube stock, such as carbon fiber or other composites without the need for a specialized workspace or customized tooling. The system allows the user to create joints, attachment points and mounting points for tubular and sheet composite material. When assembled, the joints between tubular segments and the attached termination fittings provide unparalleled tensile strength without the need for adhesives or special testing for verification. The system includes base assemblies, mid-span bracket and mounting assemblies and a wide range of versatile connectors that can provide the user with the flexibility to easily and rapidly create a wide variety of structures from strong and lightweight composite tube stock and aircraft-grade aluminum connectors.
Connecting device for mounting a wooden construction element
The invention relates to a connecting device (3) for mounting a wooden construction element (1), in particular in the form of a panel or beam, on a support (2a), wherein the connecting device (3) has a mounting node (4), which is designed for mounting the connecting device (3) on the support (2a), and a coupling arrangement (5), which is connected to the mounting node (4) and which, in the installed state, while projecting from the mounting node (4) on an upper side (1a) of the wooden construction element (1) can be connected to the latter by fastening members (7), which at least partially pass through the wooden construction element (1), wherein the mounting node (4) and the coupling arrangement (5) are each produced from a material which has a higher strength than that of the wooden construction element (1). The invention further relates to a wooden construction arrangement having a connecting device (3) according to the invention and to a structure having such a wooden construction arrangement.
Flange Adapter
A flange adapter can include a plurality of walls, with at least one wall being an overlapping wall. The overlapping wall can include multiple layers formed from overlapping folded sections extending from at least two other walls, or from overlapping extensions of at least two other walls. The overlapping wall can receive a fastener through the multiple layers to secure a support structure to the flange adapter. A main body of the flange adapter, including the plurality of walls, can be integrally formed from a single-piece of material.
LOCKING ARRANGEMENT FOR CONNECTING AND INTERLOCKING STRUTS AT A NODE WITHIN A FRAMEWORK
A locking arrangement for connecting and interlocking rods at a node within a framework includes connection rods and a central node bearing to be engaged from different directions by each of the connection rods at respective mounting ports through plugging each connection rod onto a respective mounting port. The central node bearing is configured with at least one locking element at each mounting port to be actuated between a locked state, in which the at least one locking element resides in an outward position and the respective connection rod plugged onto the respective mounting port is clutched to the central node bearing by the at least one locking element, and an unlocked locked state, in which the at least one locking element resides in an inward position and the respective connection rod is released from the central node bearing.
Weldless building structures
A building structure including a first building member and a second building member may be connected by a plurality of fasteners, each fastener having a head, a threaded portion having a through hardness of between HRB 70 and HRC 40, a thread-forming portion of at least HRC 50 hardness enabling the fastener to form threads in at least the second steel building member, and a fluted lead portion of at least HRC 50 hardness with a nominal diameter between 70 and 95% of major diameter, such that the fastener is capable of providing a ratio of strip torque to thread-forming torque of at least 3.0 and a ratio of strip torque to drive torque greater than 6.0 when the second steel building member having a thickness of 0.25 inch and the fluted lead portion having at least one diameter within nominal diameter between 80 and 98% of major diameter.
