A piece of furniture, comprising a first and second furniture part, which are coupled to each other at an angle by means of mechanical coupling means. A female part is made as an oblong slot in the second furniture part with an insertion opening for introducing a male part. When coupling the first furniture part and the second furniture part to each other, the male part is brought from an insertion position in the insertion opening to an end position in the female part by moving the male part and the female part along each other. The male part is situated on a narrow end of the first furniture part and is positioned with its center line between the central plane of the first furniture part and the inner side of the first furniture part. The slot is realized in the inwardly directed flat side of the second furniture part.

A set of panels includes a first panel having a first main plane and a second panel having a second main plane. The panels are provided with a mechanical locking device for locking a first edge of the first panel to a second edge of the second panel. The mechanical locking device includes an edge section groove at the first edge, wherein an edge section of the second edge is insertable into the edge section groove. A flexible tongue is arranged in an insertion groove provided in the edge section groove, and cooperates with a tongue groove provided at the edge section of the second panel. A first thickness of a core material between the edge section groove and the outermost surface of the first edge is greater than a minimum second thickness of a core material of the edge section of the second panel.

Furniture carcass formed from panels assembled edge to edge by means of a groove (21) and loose tongue (11) assembly, a first (10) and a second panel (20) being joined by the edge of the first panel (10) hearing against the inner side (20a) of the second panel (20). The first panel (10) comprises a loose tongue (11), and the second panel (20) comprises, along the edge of its inner side (20a), a recess (21), complementary in shape to that of the edge with the bearing surface (15), a longitudinal assembly groove (21), complementary in shape to that of the tongue (11), and, beyond the groove (21), a bearing surface (25), recessed relative to the plane of its inner side (20a), for receiving the edge tearing surface (15). The assembly groove (21) has a bottom surface (22) and a small bearing surface (24) joined by a truncated concave ridge (27) and the loose tongue (11) has a complementary truncated ridge (17).

A set of panels including a first panel with a first main plane and a second panel with a second main plane. The first and the second panel are provided with a mechanical locking device for locking a first edge of the first panel to a second edge of the second panel at a junction plane, wherein the first main plane is essentially perpendicular to the second main plane and the junction plane is extending between the first main plane and the second main plane. The first edge includes an edge tongue that extends from the junction plane. The second edge includes an edge groove at the junction plane. The edge tongue is configured to cooperate with the edge groove for locking together the first and the second edges in a first direction which is perpendicular to the first main plane. The edge tongue includes a tongue groove.

Joint assembly

In an aspect there is provided a joint assembly 16 for panel board materials, comprising: a first member 14 comprising a tongue 22 extending from a surface 26 of the first member 14, the tongue 22 comprising a first groove 24 in a side 28 of the tongue 22; wherein at least a portion of the side 28 of the tongue 22 including the first groove 24 extends generally perpendicular to the surface 26 of the first member 14; and a second member 12 comprising: a second groove 32 in a surface 36 of the second member 12, the second groove 32 being arranged to receive the tongue 22; and a lip 34 extending into the second groove 32; wherein, in an assembled position, the tongue 22 is arranged to slot into the second groove 32 and the lip 34 is arranged to slot into the first groove 24 thereby to join the first and second members 14, 12.

A piece of furniture includes: a first and a second resilient section (100A, 100B) mutually displaced from each other forming a gap (G) there between; a cross-member (200) configured to connect with the first section and the second section thereby bridging the gap; and a first and a second joint arrangement (300A, 300B) configured to attach the cross-member to the first and second section, respectively; wherein each of the first and second joint arrangements comprises a pair of: a male part (320) formed by a dowel (321) extending in a longitudinal direction and having a free end (322) facing away from a surface (101A, 101B) of the respective section or away from the surface of the cross-member; and a female part (330) formed by a recess (331) in the surface of the cross-member or in the surface of the respective section, the recess having a recess extent with an insertion portion (332), an intermediate portion (333), and a locking portion (335); wherein as the respective dowel passes a section biasing portion (334) in the intermediate portion, the first and second sections are resiliently displaced and as the dowel reaches the locking portion the sections are relaxed.
