FLEXIBLE BRACKET FOR JOINT STRUCTURE ASSEMBLY
20190301503 · 2019-10-03 ·

A flexible bracket for forming a joint assembly between two furniture members includes a fastener head seat, a first arm extending laterally of the fastener head seat in a first direction and a second arm extending laterally of the fastener head seat in a second direction. The first and second arms each have valley portions adjacent the fastener head seat and distal portions laterally outward of the valley portions. The valley portions are disposed below the plane of the fastener head seat while distal portions are disposed above the fastener head seat. The flexible bracket also includes a slotted aperture having a head receiving portion and a slot portion, the slot portion dimensioned to enable a head of a headed fastener to slide within the slot portion from the fastener head receiving portion to the fastener head seat without disengaging the slot portion. The first arm valley portion impedes the head of the headed fastener from exiting the fastener head seat.

PLAY YARD

A play yard can be locked in an unfolded position via a latch mechanism or unlocked by the latch mechanism to fold to a folded position, by means of lifting a central member and bringing the rail members, the upper support members, the lower support members, and the connecting members to rotate toward the center of the play yard. A spring-loaded engaging member disposed on the rail member can have engagement with the bracket so that the play yard can be stably retained in the folded position. When the engaging member is operated to disengage from the bracket, the rail members, the upper support members, the lower support members, and the connecting members rotate away from the center of the play yard all the way to the unfolded position until the connecting members can be locked by the latch mechanism, which retains the play yard in the unfolded position.

A joint structure includes a first connecting unit, a second connecting unit, and a securing member. The first connecting unit has a distal end portion, a proximate end portion, and a connecting surface formed on the proximate end portion. The second connecting unit has a coupling surface and a connecting slot formed on the coupling surface. The securing member is configured to securely connect the first and second connecting units, so when the proximate end portion of the first connecting unit is inserted into the connecting slot of the second connecting unit, the securing member is configured to lock up the first and second connecting units. The joint structure is configured to prevent lateral rotational movement between the first and second connecting units and to reinforce the furniture structure having such joint structure, especially when an excessive load is applied to the distal end of the connecting unit.

FURNITURE JOINTS FOR INCREASED STABILITY IN MODULAR BEDS

A modular bed allows users to reconfigure the bed to suit different room requirements and to suit different users. A bed leg may be attached to a bed rail with a dovetail tenon and socket to allow the bed leg to be removed if desired or to change length of style of the leg. The leg joint provides a highly stable and secure joint. A rail bracket may be used to attach bed rails to bed posts in different locations and in different configurations to allow the same bed components to form part of a floor bed, a conventional bed, a loft bed, or a bunk bed. The bed provides improved strength and stability.
