Fastener system with expandable ring
A fastener system is provided that includes a spindle bolt having a threaded section and a tooling interface at a head, a bolt body at least partially mated with the spindle bolt, including an anti-rotation slot and an outer surface, a nut including an interior threaded portion and an anti-rotation extension, and an expandable ring mated with the nut and including a lower clamping surface. In a clamping configuration of the fastener system, the lower clamping surface extends beyond the outer surface of the bolt body, the interior threaded portion of the nut is threadingly engaged with the threaded section of the spindle bolt, and the anti-rotation extension mates with the anti-rotation slot. In an installation configuration of the fastener system, a diameter of the lower clamping surface is less than a diameter of the lower clamping surface in the clamping configuration.
Radial expansion coupling device
A radial expansion system for a fastener is disclosed. The radial expansion system can include a plurality of wedge guides. Each wedge guide can have at least one guide surface. The plurality of wedge guides can be operable to be movably arranged along an axis with the guide surfaces of adjacent wedge guides opposing one another. The radial expansion system can also include a plurality of expansion wedges. Each expansion wedge can have wedge surfaces configured to slidingly interface with the at least one guide surface. Each expansion wedge can also have a clamp surface operable to interface with an interior portion of a first component. The plurality of expansion wedges can be operable to be disposed between adjacent wedge guides such that the wedge surfaces interface with the opposing guide surfaces. A second component and the plurality of wedge guides can be operable to be drawn toward one another by a fastener to cause the plurality of expansion wedges to displace radially outward from the axis such that the clamping surfaces engage and apply a clamping force to the interior portion of the first component, and thereby couple the first and second components to one another.
ONE PIECE SCREWS FOR, AND METHODS FOR MAKING AND USING, BLIND SIDE FASTENERS AND SYSTEMS WITH FREE SPIN FEATURE
Fastener embodiments of the invention comprise a freely translatable collet body, which at least partially translates within an auxiliary structure, and further comprise a captive threaded screw for rotationally engaging with the collet body to transform rotational movement into translational movement through substantial arresting of collet body rotation by way of an anti-rotation means. The screw comprises a free-spin feature that functionally, but not physically, decouples a drive tool from the collet body.
Blind rivet nut for the connection of two components
A blind rivet nut for connecting two components by means of a screw connection includes a rivet shank. The rivet shank has an internal thread, at the axial first end of which a deformation portion configured to produce the riveted joint is arranged. At the axial second end of the rivet shank there is arranged a rivet head with a contact face that allows an adjacent component face to lie against. The supporting surface has a radial extent which is greater than or equal to 1.5 times and less than or equal to 2 times the radial extent of the rivet shank.
Expansion-type anchor, sleeve used in same, and construction method
Provided is an expansion-type anchor with excellent pull-out strength. The anchor comprises an anchor body 1 that has an expansion section 3 split by an inner slit 2, and a sleeve 9 to enclose and hold the expansion section 3 of the anchor body 1. The sleeve 9 is split into a plurality of follower expansion sections by an outer main slit 10 and an outer auxiliary slit 11. A group of balls 4 is disposed inside the anchor body 1, and the expansion section 3 expands into a tapered shape when the group of balls 4 is pressed by an expansion bolt 6. When a pull-out force is applied to the anchor body 1, the sleeve 9 does not retract and deforms by expanding after the retraction of the anchor body 1. As a result, the anchor body 1 is prevented from retracting by way of the sleeve 9 being sandwiched between a prepared hole 13 and the expansion section 3.
FASTENING ELEMENT FOR FASTENING AN INSULATION TO A WALL
A fastening element for fastening a layer-type component, in particular an insulation, to a setting object, in particular to a wall or ceiling of a building, having a setting element, in particular a nail or a screw, the fastening element comprising: a shaft, an opening for receiving the setting element, a stop for positively fastening the setting element, and a terminating element for bearing on an outer side of the layer-type component, wherein the shaft and the terminating element are formed in one piece, it is intended for an insulation as a layer-type component to be able to be fastened to the wall or ceiling as setting object with little work effort even if cracking should occur in the fastening element. This object is achieved in that the shaft comprises at least two segments and an intermediate opening is respectively formed between the at least two segments.
RIVET FASTENER ASSEMBLY AND METHOD OF USE THEREOF
A fastener assembly including a fastener body having a collar and a receiving column with a protrusion on an inner surface thereof, and a pin having a threaded section. The protrusion is configured to engage and cooperate with the threaded section.
Insertable and detachable deck anchor
A tie-down anchor for securing an object to a plank deck structure having first and second members spaced apart by a gap. The tie-down anchor includes a shaft assembly and a spring assembly. The shaft assembly includes (a) a longitudinally extending rod, (b) an anchor portion located at a first end of the longitudinally extending rod, and (c) an attachment portion at a second end of the longitudinally extending rod. The anchor portion may include a bar portion sized and shaped for engaging a lower side of the first or second member, or both. The spring assembly includes a compression spring, an upper spring retainer, and a lower spring retainer. The spring assembly is adjustable along the longitudinally extending rod, between the anchor portion and the attachment portion. By engaging the lower spring retainer with the upper side of the first member or the second member, or both, and compressing the compression spring, the bar portion of the anchor portion is pushed below the plank deck structure. Then, the shaft assembly is rotated and subsequently released. Upon installation, the tie-down anchor securely engages the plank deck, by and between the bar portion and the lower spring retainer.
MULTI-PURPOSE BOLT UNIT FOR FIXING OBJECT TO DRILLED HOLE OF SOFT CONSTRUCTION STRUCTURE
A multi-purpose bolt unit for fixing an object to a drilled hole formed in a soft construction structure. The multi-purpose bolt unit including: a cylindrical body inserted into the drilled hole; a front end tip formed at a lower end of the cylindrical body and having a larger outer diameter than an outer diameter of the cylindrical body; an upper thread surface formed in an upper side of the cylindrical body while spaced apart from the front end tip; an elastic packing pipe inserted into the cylindrical body and placed on the front end tip; an upper washer inserted into the cylindrical body and placed on the elastic packing pipe; a compression nut screwed to the upper thread surface and pressurizing the upper washer so that the elastic packing pipe expands; and a fastening screw groove formed inside the cylindrical body and opened upward through the compression nut.
