A screw and a fastening tool of a screw are disclosed. The screw has a cross-shaped tool insertion groove formed on a head part and a holding groove formed on one side inner surface of the tool insertion groove, so as to be assembled with a cap having a cross-shaped fitting part and a holding protrusion provided at one side of the fitting part. The fastening tool includes a first linear insertion part and a second insertion part, which are configured to be fitted into the tool insertion groove, wherein the first and second insertion parts are perpendicular. As the fastening tool fitted into the head part of the screw is rotated, the rotation torque is uniformly dispersed over the four corner portions of the tool insertion groove through the first and second insertion parts, thereby avoiding abrasion of the tool insertion groove and extending the lifespan of the screw.

A recessed head screw includes a shank, a head, a drilling portion and threads. The head includes a top face where a socket portion is formed. The socket portion has a driving recess and a driving socket formed between the driving recess and the top face. The driving socket communicates with the driving recess. A diameter value of the driving socket is a maximum circumscribed circle diameter value of the driving recess plus a value within 20% of the maximum circumscribed circle diameter value. When a driving tool engages the socket portion, the driving socket can be in close-fitting engagement with the driving tool to increase the engagement between the driving tool and the head and prevent the screw from falling off the tool easily during the driving action of the tool, thereby delivering a full driving force to the head to improve the working efficiency and smoothness.

A recessed fastener includes a head with a top face and a drive socket, a shank extending downward from the head, and threads helically around the shank. The drive socket has a bottom and drive walls extending upward therefrom. The bottom meets the drive walls at a bottom border. The drive walls meet the top face at a top border. The bottom border and the top border have respective first and second corners. The first corners are rotatably offset relative to the second corners. A joining line is connected between each first corner and each second corner, and one drive wall formed between two adjacent joining lines is in a spiral form. The spiral drive walls leads a driving tool toward the bottom to produce an automatic downward pressing force which facilitates the close engagement, thereby obtaining a quick driving operation, an increased driving power and a labor-saving effect.

Sequential torque application retention system

A sequential torque application retention system includes a driver mechanism having a shaft; a center drive coupled to a tip end; an outboard drive coupled to the tip end; a screw including a screw head with a central receiver, the central receiver corresponding to the center drive, the central receiver configured to receive the center drive; a pair of outboard receivers formed in the screw head corresponding to the outboard drive, the pair of outboard receivers configured to receive the outboard drive; wherein the center drive is engaged with the screw head at the central receiver responsive to an initial torque and the outboard drive is engaged with the screw head at the pair of outboard receivers responsive to a subsequent torque; and wherein the outboard receivers are positioned so that they do not engage with the outboard drive responsive to the initial torque.
