Method for integrally forming a stop flange on a self-tapping screw by threading dies
11739784 · 2023-08-29 ·

A method for forming a stop flange on a self-tapping screw includes locating a shank of a self-tapping screw between two threading dies, fixing one of the two threading dies and moving the other one of the two threading dies to work the shank, the external thread forming section of each of the threading dies performing threading to form an external thread on the shank, inserting the insert and the recessed corner of each of the threading dies into a top of the external thread to form a groove in the shank, and the insert of each of the threading dies gradually squeezing downward an extruded portion that is formed during formation of the groove to form a stop flange on the shank. Thus, the shank is integrally formed with the stop flange, to stop an excessive movement of the external thread.

SCREW HAVING A MILLING SECTION EMBEDDED IN THE THREAD
20230265877 · 2023-08-24 · ·

A screw having the following successive functional sections: a threaded tip (150) shaped as a cone (A) having a double thread; a milling section (B) having a plurality of milling ribs (160) with outer diameter D.sub.F; a cylindrical shank section having the main thread with diameter D.sub.N; a thread-free shank section (D); optionally a holding thread section (E); optionally a short thread-free underhead section (F); and a head section (G) having a force engagement. The main thread (110) is guided continuously from the tip section (190) of the cone (A) via the milling section (B) to the head end of the thread-bearing shank section (C) and the ribs of the milling section (B) are arranged recessed in the thread base (140) of the continuous main thread such that the thread tips of the continuous main thread with nominal outer diameter D.sub.B project beyond the milling ribs, so that D.sub.F<D.sub.B.

SELF-DRILLING, ANTI-BURR, THREADED FASTENER

A self-drilling, anti-burr, threaded fastener is provided having at least two different thread portions. The first thread portion extends along the tip and the second thread portion extends along the tapered portion adjacent to the tip. A third thread portion can be provided between the first and second thread portions that includes a plurality of axial gaps that extend to the thread root to remove burrs. Alternatively, knurling is provided in an area where the first and second thread portions meet, and the knurling acts to remove burrs.

Threaded fastener with a hybrid self-drilling tip
11326638 · 2022-05-10 · ·

The present disclosure provides a threaded fastener having a hybrid self-drilling tip or drill tip. The fastener includes a head, a shank connected to and extending from the head, a helical thread formation extending radially outwardly from part of the shank, and a self-drilling tip including a first tapered tip portion and a second tapered tip portion. The first tapered tip portion is connected at a first end to the shank and at a second end to the second tapered tip portion, and the second tapered tip portion terminates in a pointed end. The outer diameters of both tapered portions taper radially inwardly moving in the direction of the pointed end, which renders the fastener suitable for attachment to wood as well as for fastening two metal objects to one another.

Multi-featured panel fastener and panel system including the multi-featured panel fastener
11725683 · 2023-08-15 · ·

A panel fastener is provided that has a head having a first surface and a second surface opposite the first surface; an engagement feature on the first surface of the head, the engagement feature being configured to be engaged by a driving tool; a shank extending from the second surface of the head; a threaded portion extending from the shank, the threaded portion having first and second helical threads arranged in an intertwined manner; the first thread extending farther radially from the central axis than does the second thread; and the shank being located between the head and the threaded portion.

Wall nail

A wall nail includes a rod body, a nail head, a rotary head, and a rubber cover. The rod body has a first end portion and a second end portion opposite to the first end portion. The nail head includes a threaded rod and a drill. Two ends of the threaded rod are integrally connected with the second end portion of the rod body and the drill respectively. The rotary head is integrally formed on the first end portion of the rod body. The rubber cover covers the peripheries of the rod body and the rotary head.

Facade panel screw and fastening arrangement therewith

A facade panel screw for the optimized fastening of facade panel elements to a substructure has a head having a very large diameter, a subsequent, essentially cylindrical shaft section (22) extending along a central longitudinal axis (A) and a subsequent tip region (23). The shaft section (22) includes, as viewed from the head, a threadless underhead section (24), a stop collar (25) and a threaded section (28). The thread in a first part (26) of the threaded section (28) subsequent to the stop collar (25) has an outer diameter D.sub.r, which is attenuated compared to the thread in a second part (27) with outer diameter D.sub.n, over several convolutions, so that D.sub.r<D.sub.n. This threaded section 26 allows a controlled overwinding of the facade panel screw in use. A corresponding fastening arrangement includes a facade panel, a substructure for transferring the load to a building surface and the facade panel screw.

Double threaded standoff fastener

Presently disclosed is a standoff fastener for use in a compound floor structure. The threaded fastener includes a threaded standoff portion designed to accept a nut which has a diameter larger than a head portion of the standoff fastener. The head portion is located centrally within the fastener in order to reduce a tendency of the fastener to pivot within a driver during the fastening process.

Coated fastener

Self-sealing fasteners and associated building panels, systems, and methods are provided. In one aspect, a fastener includes an elongated fastener body with an external surface extending between the first end and the second end, and a coating material disposed on at least a portion the external surface. In another aspect, a fastener includes an elongated fastener body with an external surface extending between the first end and the second end, and a polymer annulus surrounding at least a portion of the external surface of the of the elongated fastener body at or adjacent the head of the fastener.
