Reinforced Cap Head Screws
A self-tapping screw for use in securing at least two materials together. The self-tapping screw may include a screw cap that receives a screw body to reinforce the strength of the screw head. The screw cap is composed of a zinc-aluminum alloy that may be die casted and provides additional strength and hardness to the attached screw body. The screw cap has a rolled flange that helps to securely retain the flat rim of the attached screw body.
Screw Fasteners for Use in Building Construction
A screw fastener comprising: an elongate shank (3) having a screw thread (9) extending along at least a substantial portion of the shank; a drive section (7) located at one end of the shank for allowing the screw fastener to be rotatably driven into one or more material layers; and a self-drilling or piercing point (5) at an opposing end thereof for forming a bore in said one or more material layers; wherein the drive section is shaped to minimise or avoid the need for countersinking of the formed bore.
SELF-DRILLING SCREW
A self-drilling screw includes a leading section having a drill body and opposite discharge grooves formed on the drill body. The drill body and the discharge grooves meet at cutting edges. On the drill body are formed two blade portions connected to the cutting edges and tapering at respective second tips. The blade portion has a second included angle of not more than 50 degrees. Between the blade portions is formed a drilling portion terminating at a first tip and having a first included angle of not more than 60 degrees. Two opposite concave surfaces each extend from the drilling portion to each blade portion. The first tip and the second tips are situated at different places. Accordingly, the end of the leading section presents a shape of a curved bow riser to cut quickly and help quick removal of chips, thereby decreasing resistance and preventing the cracking problem.
VENTILATED STRUCTURAL PANELS AND METHOD OF CONSTRUCTION WITH VENTILATED STRUCTURAL PANELS
A ventilated structural panel comprising a first sheet, having a long axis defining a length and a perpendicular short axis defining a width, a plurality of spacing structural elements, fixedly attached to the first sheet such that the yield strength of the panel is greater than the individual yield strength of the first sheet, and the plurality of spacing structural elements being formed such that a plurality of unobstructed pathways are created for air to move from at least one edge of the panel to at least one of an opposite and an adjacent edge of the panel, wherein the first sheet is the only sheet in the panel.
SWIVEL HANGER
A swivel hanger system includes an anchor member with an anchor head disposed at an end of the anchor member and an elongated body, where at least a portion of the elongated body is configured to be inserted into a support member when the system is connected with the support member. The system also includes a swivel member with an open end extending to a hollow interior of the swivel member, where the open end is configured to rotatably couple with the anchor head such that the anchor head is located within the hollow interior and the elongated body extends through the swivel member open end. The system further includes a stop structure to limit an insertion distance at which the anchor member is inserted into the support member.
METHOD OF INSTALLING SELF-DRILLING, SELF-TAPPING BONE SCREW FOR BICORTICAL PURCHASE
A self-drilling, self-tapping bone screw is described in which the bone screw has a drill tip free of threads and having a length at least as great as about the thickness of a proximal cortical bone layer, with the drill tip having opposed lands and a helical flute between each of the lands with each of the lands having a cutting edge configured to cut bone as the drill tip is rotated into the bone with the flutes conveying the bone debris away from the drill tip, where a lead thread begins to self-tap internal threads in the proximal cortical bone layer after the drill tip has drilled through the proximal cortical bone layer so as to avoid stripping the threads formed in the bone layer. A method of installation is also disclosed.
SELF DRILLING BOLT AND NUT
A drilling bolt-and-nut assembly for attaching rigid panels, including a drilling bolt and a grooved nut. The drilling bolt includes a cylindrical screw-thread section, an external thread-diameter, and an internal thread-diameter; a drill-bit section; and a thread-less section interconnecting the screw-thread section, the drill-bit section. The grooved nut has a through cylindrical opening formed at the center of the nut, wherein the cylindrical wall of the cylindrical opening of the grooved nut is threaded with threads that are operatively compatible with the threads of the drilling bolt. The drill-bit section includes at least two cutting-blades, wherein the at least two cutting-blades are spaced apart. At least two grooves are formed in the wall of the through cylindrical opening, wherein the grooves are spaced apart similar to the peripheral distance between the cutting-blades of the drill bit-section.
WOOD SCREW
A wood screw is disclosed herein. It comprises a screw head and a rod body integrally extended from the screw head and having a shank part and a screwing part, wherein the screwing part comprises a straight surface surrounded with a threaded section and a cutting section on which a cutting unit is formed, and wherein a root diameter of the shank part is larger than root diameters of the threaded section and the cutting section respectively, and larger than or equal to a maximum outer diameter of the cutting section defined by the cutting unit.
Screw and Anchor Assembly
A screw and anchor assembly include a male fastener and a female anchor. The male fastener only has threads or half-circular fins on half of the surface area. The other half is just like a regular cylinder. The female anchor only has threads or half-circular fins on half of the inner surface area. The other half is just like the inner wall of a regular cylinder. The user may push the male fastener into the female anchor, so the half-circular fins on the male fastener engages with the half-circular fins inside the female anchor and locks the male fastener to the female anchor. When the user needs to remove the male fastener, simply turns the male fastener 180 degrees and disengages the half-circular fins on the male fastener from the half-circular fins on the female anchor, then pull the male fastener from the female anchor.
Double-ended dual attached fastener
A double ended dual attached fastener includes a first portion having a stud bolt, a second portion configured to anchor to a panel member, and a flange nut partitioning the first end and the second end. The flange nut includes a flat interior annular surface facing the second portion. The flange nut includes a plurality of radially spaced weld projections extending toward the second portion. The weld projection includes a material that amendable to form a weld joining the flange nut to a panel member through which the second portion is inserted. The second portion defines a fastener selected from a group consisting of a self-tapping friction screw, a self-piercing rivet, and a swage bolt.
