The drill tip includes an abrasive material which is different than the material of the drilling section such that the drill tip and drill section predrill a hole in a masonry material for the threaded section, the threaded section fastening to the masonry material.

METHOD OF INSTALLING SELF-DRILLING, SELF-TAPPING BONE SCREW FOR BICORTICAL PURCHASE
20200179022 · 2020-06-11 ·

A self-drilling, self-tapping bone screw is described in which the bone screw has a drill tip free of threads and having a length at least as great as about the thickness of a proximal cortical bone layer, with the drill tip having opposed lands and a helical flute between each of the lands with each of the lands having a cutting edge configured to cut bone as the drill tip is rotated into the bone with the flutes conveying the bone debris away from the drill tip, where a lead thread begins to self-tap internal threads in the proximal cortical bone layer after the drill tip has drilled through the proximal cortical bone layer so as to avoid stripping the threads formed in the bone layer. A method of installation is also disclosed.

Self-drilling, self-countersinking fastener

A self-drilling, self-countersinking fastener is provided that includes a shaft, a countersunk head located at a first end of the shaft, and a tapered point located at an opposite end of the shaft. A thread integrally extends from the shaft and extends along at least a portion of a length thereof. The countersunk head includes a frustoconical region having a first, smaller diameter in a shaft connection region and a second, larger diameter at a second end defining an edge area of the head. A plurality of radially extending ribs are located on the frustoconical region and extend from an area of the first, smaller diameter to a respective radially outer rib end spaced radially inwardly by a distance X from the edge area of the head. A respective cutting edge is located on each of the ribs.

Screw having discontinuous scraping edges

A screw has a shaft section which extends axially, a screw thread at the shaft section, which screw thread has thread turns that extend radially starting from the shaft section, a screw tip section which connects to the shaft section, at least one first scraping edge at the screw tip section, and at least one second scraping edge in a region of the shaft section adjacent to the screw tip section. The at least one first scraping edge and the at least one second scraping edge are spaced at a distance from each other and extend in an axial direction over different areas of the screw.

Countersinking screw capable of easily drilling holes and dregs removing
10626909 · 2020-04-21 ·

A screw capable of drilling holes easily and discharging dregs effectively includes a head; and a stem. The head is formed by an upper portion and a lower portion. The upper portion is a round disk. The annular ring of the round disk of the head is formed with a plurality of inclined protrusions. Recesses between the protrusions extend from an inner edge of the round ring to an outer edge of the round ring and are arranged along un-radial paths. A periphery of the lower portion of the head is formed with at least one knife sheet which extends from the annular ring of the round disk of the head to the stem; and the direction of the knife sheet is inclined to an axis of the lower portion of the head. At a connection of the head and stem, the knife sheet has a maximum height and width.

Self-Tapping Screw With Stop Flange That is Formed by Threading Die
20200116187 · 2020-04-16 ·

A self-tapping screw includes a shank having a rear end provided with a drilling tip and an external thread. The external thread has a top formed with a stop flange. The stop flange has a diameter greater than that of the external thread. Thus, the shank is integrally formed with the stop flange by two threading dies, to stop a further movement of the external thread, and to prevent the external thread from being fed and locked excessively, thereby preventing the shank from being worn out or broken during operation.
