PLUG SCREW

The present invention relates to a screw, in particular a plug screw, having a screw shank (1), a screw head (2) and a tapering screw tip (4), and having a screw thread (6) that extends at least over a portion of the screw shank (1) and over the screw tip (4), the flight (6a) of said screw thread (6) having a triangular cross section as seen in longitudinal section, with two thread flanks (8, 9) that intersect at a flank tip (7). The flank tip (7) is rounded, wherein a radius of the rounding of the rounded flank tip (7) is selected to be from 1% to 10% of the nominal diameter of the screw. The thread flanks (8, 9) are each formed from two flank portions which enclose an obtuse angle with one another.

Self-drilling, self-cleaning panel fastener

A self-drilling, self-cleaning fastener for a panel includes a head having a top side and an underside. The head has a diameter. A shank depends from an underside of the head and has a diameter less than the diameter of the head. A knurled region is adjacent the shank. The knurled region has a diameter and a plurality of spiral formed knurls having a twist in a first direction. The knurls define a major circumference as measured around peaks of the knurls. A threaded region is adjacent the knurled region and has a diameter less than the diameter of the knurled region. The threaded region has a thread form having a twist in a second direction opposite the first direction. A driving point is at an end opposite the head.

A self-tapping screw head structure includes a screw head, a rod, a cone and a thread. A direction of the thread surrounding the cone and the rod determines a tapping direction. The screw head includes a top portion, a first neck portion connected to the top portion and having a circumference decreasing towards away from the top portion, a plurality of recesses recessed at a surface of the first neck portion, and a second neck portion connected to the first neck portion and having a circumference gradually decreasing towards away from the first neck portion. Each of the plurality of recesses includes a cutting end, a crumb guiding end away from the cutting end, a first accommodating groove and a second accommodating groove. A recess depth of the first accommodating groove is greater than that of the second accommodating groove.

SPECIALIZED FASTENERS AND HOLIDAY LIGHT CLIPS FOR GUTTERS AND GUTTER GUARDS

A single piece gutter/gutter-guard screw has a head with a shoulder integrally formed thereto and a threaded screwing body integrally formed to the shoulder. A diameter of the threaded screwing body is smaller than the largest diameter of the shoulder's bottom, and a largest diameter of a top of the shoulder is smaller than a largest diameter of the head's bottom. The screw provides a gap that is a height of the shoulder when the screw is screwed into a substrate. An attached clip (in the gap) provides support for an attached wire or object and composed of a generally L-shaped body with a top member joined to a side member. A front slit in the clip provides entrance to at least an attachment structure within the top member, configured to fit onto the screw. An attachment mechanism is in the side member.

Fastening system for metallic cellular flooring of a shipping container

A fastening system for a metallic cellular shipping container floor includes a potted insert with a body disposed between a top flange at one end and a bottom flange at another end. The body defines a channel from the top flange leading towards the bottom flange and has a depth not exceeding a distance from the top flange to the bottom flange. The system also includes a hole formed in a panel of a metallic cellular shipping container floor with a depth identical to or greater than a distance from a top portion of the top flange to a bottom portion of the bottom flange. Finally, the system includes a self-tapping screw disposed within the channel of the potted insert, and including a threaded shaft with tip at a distal end of the shaft, and a screw head at a proximal end of the shaft.

Self-drilling self-tapping fastener

A self-drilling self-tapping fastener that provides improved performance in both drilling time and pullout force without decreasing performance in any of ductility, tapping torque, torsional strength, and tension strength.

ROOF COVER FASTENER

A roof cover fastener may include a cover plate having a planar body with a perimeter. A central aperture may be disposed centrally in the body. A first annular rib may be formed into the body and may encircle the central aperture. A second annular rib may be formed into the body and may encircle the first annular rib. A first channel may separate the first annular rib from the second annular rib. A medial aperture may be disposed in the channel between the first annular rib and the second annular rib. Optionally, the fastener may also include an auger element having a first end and a second end. A head may be coupled to the first end, and a tip may be coupled to the second end. A thread crest with a thread root may extend from the second end towards the first end.

Orthopedic screws

Self-drilling, self-tapping and self-advancing orthopedic screws are provided. An orthopedic screw includes a relief cut at the tip of the screw that is timed to the distal-most thread at the end of the screw tip to create a wide and sharp cutting edge for the screw.

SELF-TAPPING SCREW WITH DRILLING WING

A self-tapping screw with drilling wing includes a head, a shank extending therefrom, a plurality of threads spirally disposed on the shank, a drilling portion opposite to the head, and at least one winged reaming unit formed on the drilling portion and extending outwards therefrom. At least one supporting rib protrudes from at least one surface of the reaming unit for increasing the strength of the reaming unit, allowing the reaming unit to bear the larger drilling stress during a screwing operation and provide the greater cutting action, and preventing the reaming unit from wearing or breaking. The combination of the supporting rib and the reaming unit allows the reaming unit to provide a suitable thickness which facilitates a preferable cutting speed without affecting the drilling capability of the screw.

DRILL POINT FASTENER
