Fixturing System for Woodwoorking
A fixturing system for woodworking includes a woodworking table having a planar top surface and a T-slot. The T-slot has a central section that is open at the top surface, and further has a pair of undercut sections projecting laterally from opposite sides of the central section. The table has a pair of inner surfaces facing downward over the pair of undercut sections of the T-slot. The system further includes a T-nut. An upper portion of the T-nut is receivable in the central section of the T-slot, and has a screw-threaded bore. The bore has a nominal cross-sectional area for receiving a screw-threaded shank on a fastener. A lower portion of the T-nut has a pair of clamping surfaces projecting laterally from opposite sides of the upper portion. The clamping surfaces on the T-nut have a combined surface area of at least about 4 times the nominal cross-sectional area of the bore.
Quickly slideable and incrementally adjustable barrier
A barrier for the inside of a home. The barrier includes two partitions that slide relative to each other to increase and decrease a distance between ends of the barrier. The partitions slide into and out of confronting relationships with each other. The partitions engage each other at upper and lower locations and further at a medial location where an elongate member of one partition is received in a tube engaged to the other partition. A threaded piece upon being turned brings pressure to bear upon an end of the tube such that the partitions can be incrementally expanded apart and thereby pressurized between two locations within the home so as to block off one portion of the home. The threaded piece is slideable along the elongate member.
TOLERANCE COMPENSATION ASSEMBLY
A tolerance compensation arrangement for fastening first and second components with compensation of tolerances between the components. The arrangement comprises a base element having a first element with a first inner thread, a second element with a second inner thread, a supporting element arranged in between, and an adjustment unit with a threaded sleeve with an outer thread and a dragging unit at least partially arranged in the sleeve. The outer thread forms a first thread pairing of a first thread direction with the first inner thread. A fastening screw, can be screwed into the second inner thread via a second thread pairing of a second thread direction opposite to the first thread direction. The fastening screw can be connected to the adjustment unit via the dragging unit so that, during the rotation of the fastening screw, the adjustment unit co-rotates and is moved into abutment with the first component.
Fastening system with a washer having an enlarged bore facing a composite panel
A fastening system comprises a fastener, a washer, and a collar. The fastener has a shaft extending through a hole in a composite panel. The washer is concentrically positioned on the shaft between a head of the fastener and the composite panel. The washer comprises an enlarged bore facing the composite panel. The enlarged bore is one of a chamfered bore or a countersunk bore. The collar secures the fastener relative to the composite panel.
COUPLING ASSEMBLY
A coupling assembly for releasably attaching a ground engaging tool to earth moving equipment comprises a boss arrangement mounted onto a lip of an excavation implement of the equipment relative to an edge of the lip. The coupling assembly also comprises a bolt comprising a threaded portion and a flange. The threaded portion is received by a threaded aperture in the boss arrangement such that relative rotation between the bolt and boss arrangement causes rearward movement of the bolt and flange away from the edge. A retainer is removably insertable between the flange and a bearing surface of the tool readward the flange. The rearward movement causes the flange to engage the retainer and the retainer to engage the bearing surface such that the bolt goes into compression and urges the tool toward the edge.
Quick-access fastener assembly for high temperature applications
Embodiments disclosed herein include fastener assemblies. In an embodiment, a fastener assembly comprises a sleeve with a hole, an inner surface, and top and bottom ends. The top end has a planar surface, and the inner surface has a cylindrical surface. The fastener assembly includes a fastener downwardly extending through the hole, and having a drive slot, a head, a shank, and a threaded region. The head is positioned within the bottom end. The head is separated from the threaded region by the shank. The fastener assembly comprises a cover disposed on the top end and having an access hole and top and bottom surfaces. The cover is welded to the sleeve to define an inner cavity between the cover, sleeve, and fastener head. The access hole is positioned over the drive slot. The cover, sleeve, and fastener comprises materials having high temperature, strength and oxidation resistances.
ELECTROMAGNETIC EFFECT PROTECTIVE FASTENER WITH SWAGEABLE TERMINATION BODY
An electromagnetic effect suppressing termination part for a fastener formed of a metallic material, the fastener having a head, a shank, and a male threaded portion opposite the head, has a metallic core coated by a layer of dielectric material. An internal bore of the termination part includes an inner wall, a counterbore hole, and a cavity disposed therebetween. An outer surface includes an outer wall, and a frustoconical wall positioned proximally relative to the outer wall, the frustoconical wall extending radially outwardly from the outer wall and having an included angle of less than approximately 90 degrees. A seal is disposed in the counterbore hole, and the frustoconical wall is configured so that a compressive force applied to the frustoconical wall deforms the inner wall to conform to the male threaded portion of the fastener and deforms the seal to fill the cavity.
SEGMENTED NUTS
A segmented nut has inner segments and an outer sleeve. Part of the sleeve interface portion and part of the segment interface portion engage when the sleeve rotates relative to the inner nut during release of the segmented nut with part of the segment interface portion at a greater distance from a central axis of the segmented nut than a minimum distance of the at least part of the sleeve interface portion from the central axis. One or more of the segments can include a retainer preventing the sleeve moving toward a free face of the segment(s). One or more of the segments can have a flange portion providing an increased working (compression) face relative to a plain segmented nut. An assembled segmented nut can include some radial freeplay for the segments to move radially whilst being retained within the sleeve prior to application of the segmented nut to a threaded bolt, stud or rod such that threading of the segmented nut onto the thread of the bolt, stud or rod removes the freeplay.
Quick-release engagement device
A quick-release engagement device for a female threaded member includes a tubular member and an actuating unit. The tubular member includes a contractible portion which has a male threaded segment and an actuated segment, and which is divided into a plurality of contractible sectors by a plurality of slits. The actuating unit is configured to press the actuated segment to permit the contractible sectors to deform synchronously from an expanded state, where the female threaded member is permitted to be in threaded engagement with the male threaded segment, to a contracted state, where the female threaded member is permitted to be quickly sleeved on or removed from the male threaded segment.
