Systems and methods for structurally interrelating components using inserts made from metallic glass-based materials
Systems and methods in accordance with embodiments of the invention operate to structurally interrelate two components using inserts made from metallic glass-based materials. In one embodiment, a method of structurally interrelating two components includes: forming an insert from a metallic glass-based composition; where the formed insert includes a metallic glass-based material; affixing the insert to a first component; and structurally interrelating the second component to the first component using the insert.
THREADED INSERT FOR SANDWICH PANEL, METHOD OF ASSEMBLY, AND CORRESPONDING ASSEMBLY
An insert intended to be assembled in a hole in a sandwich panel including a hollow cylindrical body having a flanged end deformable by a placement tool allowing mechanical connection by deformation with a surface skin of the sandwich panel is provided. The insert includes an anchoring stem in the continuation of the cylindrical body as well as an internal tube intended to collaborate with the placement tool. The anchoring stem has at least one circumferential groove and a peripheral rib, the circumferential groove and the peripheral rib each having a transverse profile that is rounded so as to be able to collaborate with a curable substance.
FASTENER ASSEMBLY
A fastener assembly having a nut with interior threads extending from a first end to an intermediate end wall, a narrowed diameter aperture extending from the end wall toward a second end. A first screw has a shaft exhibiting a first exterior thread pattern rotationally inter-engaging with the interior threads of the nut when installed through the first end. A recess formed in an end of the shaft exhibiting a further plurality of interior threads matching a direction of the first thread pattern. A second screw has a second exterior thread pattern opposite the first pattern and, upon being installed through the narrowed aperture, rotationally inter-engaging the interior threads of the first screw, with loosening of either screw being prevented by their counter-threaded orientation. A head of the second screw exhibiting an outer annular rim establishing a resistance fit within an entranceway location of the nut.
CONNECTOR
A connector (1) for releasably engaging a slot (10) in a support member (11). The connector (1) includes a body (2) in having a blind bore (20), within which is received a retaining element (3), a threaded insert (4) and a bolt (5) with a shaft (50). The threaded insert (4) provides a threaded hole (40) that receives the shaft (50). The bolt (5) has a head (51) at a first end of the shaft (50) and the retaining element (3) is secured to a second end thereof to inhibit removal of the shaft (50) from the body (2). The shaft (5) has a central threaded portion (55) between the head (51) and the retaining element (3) to engage the threaded hole (40) such that rotation of the body (2) relative to the bolt (5) draws the head (51) toward the body (2) to captivate and clamp an overhang (13) of the slot (10) in the support member (11) between the head (51) and the body (2).

Insert designed to be fitted on a support, including a body extending along a longitudinal axis and a base including at least one plate extending along a base plane, at least one through hole oriented along an orientation axis perpendicular to the base plane being formed in said at least one plate, at least one protuberance being formed on a first surface of said at least one plate and forming a hollow on a second surface of said at least one plate.
Enclosed jacking insert
A case assembly is provided. The case assembly comprises a first flange and a spot face in the first flange. The spot face has a D-shaped perimeter. A jacking insert is disposed in the spot face and has a D-shaped geometry. A threaded cylinder extends from the jacking insert into the first flange. A jacking insert is also provided. The jacking insert comprises a flat portion having a D-shaped geometry and a cylindrical portion having an internal thread configured to interface with a bolt.
HOUSING FOR A FASTENER OF A VEHICLE COMPONENT
Methods and systems are provided for a housing for a fastener of a vehicle component. In one example, a housing for a fastener includes a central conduit adapted to receive the fastener, and a radial key extending outward from an outer surface of the housing. The radial key is first pressed against a vehicle component in an axial direction of the housing to form a first section of a channel within an interior of the vehicle component, and the key is then rotated against the interior to form an undercut, second section of the channel in a circumferential direction of the housing.
Component joint
A component joint including a turbomachine component (10) having at least one component flange (11); a mating turbomachine component (20) connected thereto and having at least one mating component flange (21); and at least one seal (30) to provide a seal against an overpressure (p2p1) on the component side, the at least one seal (30) having a sealing surface (31) that engages into a groove (12) of the turbomachine component (10), the groove (12) being disposed on a mating-component-flange-facing side of the component flange (11) and having a contact surface (13) for sealingly axially supporting the sealing surface (31).
METHOD OF MANUFACTURING AN ARTIFICIAL CLIMBING STRUCTURE
This method comprises the steps of: a) providing a framework (1), suitable for supporting the artificial climbing structure; b) mounting at least one structural panel (2) on the framework (1); c) providing at least one covering panel (3), comprising patterns; d) mounting the covering panel (3) on the structural panel (2) in a removable manner; e) mounting at least one climbing hold (4) on the covering panel (3); f) fixing the climbing hold (4) to the structural panel (2), through the covering panel (3), and in a removable manner.
