CARABINER WITH INTERNAL CONFINEMENT ELEMENT
20200332827 · 2020-10-22 · ·

The carabiner comprises a body associated with a gate able to rotate on a first end of the body between a closed position and an open position of the carabiner. A confinement element is configured to form a first stop and a second stop salient from the body. The confinement element is fitted removable with respect to the body. The confinement element is fixed to the body by a first fastener and a second fastener. A joining part connects the first fastener to the second fastener to define the space separating the first stop and the second stop. The joining part is pressed against the body. The body, the gate and the joining part define a carabiner with a single central ring.

Irreversibly locking clip

A Irreversibly Locking Clip. The clip has a hinged latch that pivots from an open position to a closed position, similar to a conventional caribiner. The clip provides the structural strength and durability of a caribiner or shackle. The clip includes one or more spring-loaded pins that will irreversibly lock the latch in a closed position by extending into a corresponding socket when the latch is closed. Additionally, the clip incorporates a retaining tip at the tip end of the latch that engages a tip retaining socket when the latch is closed in order to provide additional reinforcement between the latch and the body of the clip.

Devices formed of interconnected components

In the disclosed devices formed from interconnected components, each includes a yoke component, a boss component and an axle bolt. The yoke component includes: a carabiner body with a back, an opening, and a yoke formation. The yoke formation includes a U-shaped section open to the outside of the body, defining a space between two legs, the legs having bearing surfaces through each of which a respective axle bore is formed. The back extends from the yoke formation. A spur extends from the yoke formation. A gate on the body pivots between closed and open positions. The boss component has flat, parallel external bearing surfaces, an axle bore extending through the boss component, the axle bore opening at each bearing surface. The axle bolt passes through the axle bores in the yoke and boss component.

A wearable lightweight fire fighter's personal escape system and method includes a rope, having a distal and proximal end, organized in parallel segments disposed in an inner pouch. The inner pouch is entirely contained in an outer pouch that is appointed to be removably attached to a belt or harness, worn by a fire fighter. The proximal end of the rope exits through an opening in the inner pouch and outer pouch and is attached directly to a lightweight hook, or optionally enters a belay device. The hook has a sharp point for creating a purchase point on soft surfaces, a hook opening having sufficient diameter to surround radiators, steam pipe and the like, and capture rope that surrounds substantial objects. The hook has a central opening appointed for holding a firefighting tool to aid in creating a substantial object. The fire fighter escapes by creating a purchase point and repelling at a high speed or at a controlled speed by adjusting belay friction.

Fall Protection Compliance System and Method

A connector for a fall protection compliance system includes a frame having an opening and a connection area configured for receiving a connection structure therein and a connection sensor assembly associated with the frame. The connection sensor assembly includes at least one permanent magnet configured for generating a magnetic field within at least a portion of the connection area, at least one magnetometer configured for detecting a presence or an absence of a disturbance in the magnetic field, and a control device having at least one processor programmed or configured to receive connection data from the at least one magnetometer, determine a connection status of the connector based on detecting the presence or the absence of the disturbance in the magnetic field, and perform at least one action based on the connection status. A method for detecting connection of a connector to a connection structure is also disclosed.

CARABINER INCLUDING GATE SECTION INCORPORATING A BOTTLE OPENER FEATURE

An apparatus includes a trim panel and a carabiner releasably attached to the trim panel.
