Annular sleeves for fluid-handling components

A system includes a first body of a fluid-handling component and a second body of a fluid-handling component. The system also includes a fastener configured to couple the first body to the second body, and an annular sleeve configured to surround a portion of the fastener that is positioned at an interface between the first body and the second body when the first body and the second body are coupled to one another.

Flange assembly
11098826 · 2021-08-24 · ·

A flange assembly includes a flange for connection to a hose or pipe, the flange defining a contact face for engagement with a contact face of an opposed flange. The flange assembly also includes at least three clamps spaced circumferentially around the contact face. Each clamp includes a clamp body pivotably secured to the flange and a clamp member mounted on the clamp body, which is movable between a first, retracted position and a second, clamping position. A clamp face of the clamp member faces the contact face of the flange. The clamp member is movable relative to the clamp body to adjust the position of the clamp face relative to the contact face of the flange and adjust a clamping force created between the clamp face and the contact face of the flange to retain an opposing flange in face-to-face engagement with the contact face of the flange.

ADAPTER CLIP

An adapter clip includes a first portion configured to fit within an engine clip or an engine clamp, a second portion including an annular portion, the annular portion being configured to fit around an engine component, and a web portion connected to the annular portion and the first portion. A diameter of the first portion differs from a diameter of the annular portion.

DEFORMED BLIND RIVET LOOP CLAMP
20210254650 · 2021-08-19 ·

A pipe or tube hanger consisting of a loop clamp combined with a blind rivet fastener which has the joint deformed to stiffen the blind rivet so it may be used as a tension member in the application. This will replace cast iron parts which have been typically used for this application. See FIG. 1. Because of air pollution many small cast iron foundries no longer operate in the United States. This novel methodology also eliminates weld joining of the two parts which requires post plating to restore cladding or galvanizing or post painting of the parts. Using this mechanical joint enables the use of pre-painted or galvanized material and allows fully finished parts to exit the automated fabricating process and go directly into shipping containers dramatically reducing handling and reducing the customers costs and making domestic manufacturing of the product competitively possible.

Seal System for Removable Cover
20210239154 · 2021-08-05 ·

A structure has a pair of components, releasably secured to one another by fasteners. The fasteners include a plurality of studs secured to one of the components and passing through holes in another of the components with a spacing between the radially inner surface of said hole and a radially outer surface of said stud to define an annular void between each hole and a respective one of said studs. The fastener also includes a nut having a blind bore extending from an end face and threaded to receive said stud. A seal assembly provides a seal between said components. The seal assembly comprises a first resilient seal extending between and located on the studs to be interposed between the components and a non conductive bushing on each of the studs and located in respective ones of the annular voids. Each of the bushings has a radial flange to overlie the periphery of said hole with a pair of resilient gaskets located on opposite sides of each of said radial flanges. A rigid washer is located on a respective one of the studs and overlying one of said first resilient gaskets. A second resilient gasket is located on the opposite side of the washer to the first resilient gasket to sandwich the washer between one of the first resilient gaskets and the second resilient gasket. An O ring located on the stud between an end face of the nut and the second resilient gasket to effect a seal therebetween. Upon tightening of the nut on the stud, the gaskets are compressed to provide a seal between adjacent surfaces and the bushing maintains the stud spaced from the holes.

REMOTE PROCESS EQUIPMENT BOLT FLANGE JOINT OPENING AND CLOSING SYSTEM AND METHOD OF USE
20210301956 · 2021-09-30 ·

A system for remotely opening and closing a process equipment bolt flange joint may include a hydraulic cylinder actuator assembly for attaching to the flanges of a bolt flange joint to open and close the joint by operation of a remote hydraulic pump. More than one actuator assembly may be evenly spaced around the flange joint, to ensure even distribution of force around the joint. The system may have an accumulator for receiving hydraulic fluid expelled from the hydraulic cylinder during extension and to force hydraulic fluid back into the cylinder to close the flange joint upon pressure release at the pump. A drop trigger may be used to release hydraulic pressure at the pump for emergencies. The system may include a video camera for viewing the joint on a display. The components may be stored and transported on a mobile cart. A method of use is also disclosed.
