RAILWAY VEHICLE AND JOINT CONNECTOR THEREOF
A joint connector of a railway vehicle comprises a concave joint (22) and a convex joint (21). A traction load transfer section and/or a compression load transfer section are provided between the concave joint and the convex joint. The traction load transfer section and the compression load transfer section are detachable assembled in the concave joint. The service life of the concave joint is prolonged due to the arrangement of the traction load transfer section and the compression load transfer section.
HINGE SYSTEM FOR AN ARTICULATED WAVE ENERGY CONVERSION SYSTEM
A hinge system and method for an Articulated Wave Energy Conversion System (AWECS) that provides for hinge and piston pump displacements due to multi-axis forces in allowing adjacent barges of the AWECS to pivot with respect to one another due to wave motion. The hinge system uses a plurality of parallel hinges, and axle segments, coupled between adjacent barges wherein the hinges are coupled to upright trusses positioned transversely along facing edges of each barge. Hinge bracing includes lower V-shaped struts that act as lower stops when the barges pitch up and also include upper struts that act as upper stops when the barges pitch down. The pumps are positioned in parallel. The pumps have special couplings such as ball joint couplings that permit motions other than longitudinal pump/ram motions due to multi-axis forces generated by the wave motion and thus provide omni-directional stress relief to the pumps.
Ball joint, method of manufacturing a ball joint, and tool for manufacturing a ball joint
A ball joint includes a cover plate with a nested portion along an outer perimeter having a nested portion thickness, a domed portion located radially inward of the outer perimeter having a domed portion thickness, and a pressed portion located between the nested portion and the domed portion having a pressed portion thickness. The pressed portion thickness is less than the domed portion thickness, which during manufacture, is formed when the cover plate and bearing are simultaneously pressed into their final form and position. A tool can be used to press the cover plate and bearing in a single operation. The tool can have interchangeable components, allowing for the manufacture of differently sized ball joints.
BALL JOINT
(Task) To provide a ball joint which is easily mounted to the panel with the ball stud mounted therein.
(Solution) A ball joint includes a ball stud 8 and a socket 10, the socket including: a base portion 12 that is annular about an axis extending in an insertion direction; multiple first protruding parts 13 that each protrude from the base portion in the insertion direction and are joined to each other; and second protruding parts 14, 34 that protrude from the base portion in the insertion direction in positions between the first protruding parts, wherein the second protruding parts rotatably hold the ball in cooperation with tips of the first protruding parts, the first protruding parts are each provided with an extension part 18 that extends out sideways with respect to a protruding direction, an outer surface of the extension part is provided with an engagement part 15 that engages with an edge part of the opening, the first protruding parts and the second protruding parts are each capable of deforming to bend in a radial direction with respect to the axis, and tips of the second protruding parts are positioned more in the insertion direction than edge parts of the extension part on a side of the insertion direction.

THREE-POINT LINK
A three-point link having two control amis forming an acute angle and meet at a central joint. The central joint has a cylindrical dome extending perpendicular to a plane defined by the control amis. The central joint has a joint ball penetrated by the dome. To prevent separation of the central joint, it has a captive securing device which functions as a stop that extends perpendicular to an axial direction. The securing device is penetrated by the dome and is secured against axial withdrawal by an annular securing clement. Viewed in axial direction, the annular securing element is arranged on a side of the captive securing device) remote of the joint ball and engages in a circumferential groove of the dome. The annular securing element is snugly surrounded in radial direction by the captive securing device to prevent a withdrawal of the annular securing element from the circumferential groove.
SHACKLE FOR FASTENING AN AIRCRAFT ENGINE COMPRISING A PAIR OF ENCAPSULATED ANTI-FRICTION COATINGS, AND AIRCRAFT COMPRISING SUCH A SHACKLE
A shackle for fastening an aircraft engine including a ball joint with a pin including a ring including a first bore and a sleeve assembled in the first bore and having a second bore configured to receive the pin and the diameter of which progressively increases to have a flared inner surface at each of its ends, the fastening shackle being arranged such that a spherical outer surface of the ring bears an anti-friction coating produced on a region extending beyond the contact region with the body of the shackle, this first region being bordered by rims forming a projection around the coating, and/or the second bore bears an anti-friction coating on a region extending beyond its contact region with the pin, this region being bordered by rims forming a projection around this anti-friction coating, at the ends of the flared inner surface.
