Workpiece Support For A Thermal Processing System
A workpiece support for a thermal processing system is provided. The workpiece support includes a rotor configured to support a workpiece. The workpiece support further includes a gas supply. The gas supply can include a plurality of bearing pads. Each of the bearing pads can be positioned closer to a periphery of the rotor than a center of the rotor. Each of the bearing define one or more passages configured to direct gas onto the rotor to control a position of the rotor along a first axis and a second axis that is substantially perpendicular to the first axis. Furthermore, one or more of the bearing pads define at least one additional passage configured to direct gas onto the rotor to control rotation of the rotor about the first axis.

Flex pad bearing pad configuration
A hydrodynamic bearing in the form of a flex pad bearing includes configurations structured to change a bearing characteristic. One form of the bearing includes a nonlinear back wall that includes a circular arc and a transition, where the back wall extends radially outward of a ligament. The bearing can include an opening for the deposit of a weighted mass, wherein the opening can threadingly receive a threaded weighted mass. In one form a sidewall that includes the back wall segment can have an average outer radius which determines a thickness of the flex pads.
Bearing and power generation system having same
Provided are a bearing and a power generation system including the same. The bearing supporting a shaft system of a power generation system in a radial direction includes a pad disposed on an outer side of the shaft system with respect to the radial direction and including a cooling path through which oil flows. In the bearing and the power generation system including the same, the cooling flow path is formed through the pad so that the oil existing between the pad and the shaft system flows into the cooling flow path to cool the pad. Accordingly, the pad is continuously cooled during the operation of the power generation system, and the temperature of the pad is prevented from rising above the threshold value even if friction occurs between the shaft system and the pad.

Bearing Monitoring/Analysis System
A bearing monitoring/analysis system may comprise an acoustic emission sensor positioned adjacent a fluid film bearing, component thereof, and/or adjacent structure such that the acoustic emission sensor may collect a signal from the bearing, wherein the signal may be analyzed to allow a user to gain information regarding the fluid film bearing.

BEARING HOUSING
A bearing housing for a bearing having an outer race, the bearing housing comprising: an annular wall extending about an axis and axially between a first end and a second end, the annular wall including: a plurality of holes spaced circumferentially from one another and spaced axially from the first end, the plurality of holes extending through the annular wall toward the axis; and an interior housing surface extending about the axis and defining interior openings of the plurality of holes, the interior housing surface having a cylindrical portion defining a seat for radial engagement with the outer race, the cylindrical portion extending axially from a first location proximate to the first end to at least a second location between the first location and the interior openings.
PLAIN BEARING ARRANGEMENT
The invention relates to a sliding bearing (9) comprising: an inner ring element (13); an outer ring element (14); at least one sliding bearing element (15), which is arranged between the inner ring element (13) and the outer ring element (14).
The sliding bearing element (15) has multiple sliding bearing pads (20), wherein the individual sliding bearing pads (20) each have a bearing surface (26), which is designed in the shape of a spherical cap.
