A bearing assembly is disclosed that includes a first component with a first bearing surface, and a second component with a second bearing surface. A fluid is disposed between the first bearing surface and the second bearing surface supporting the first bearing surface and the second bearing surface in a non-contact rotational relationship. The first bearing surface, or the second bearing surface, or both the first bearing surface and the second bearing surface include a surface layer with solid lubricant 2D nanoparticles in a matrix.

SLIDE COMPONENT

In an embodiment, in a slide component, dynamic pressure generation grooves 10 are provided on a sealing face of at least one of a pair of slide parts 4, 7 so as to be isolated with no communication from the sealed fluid side and the leakage side by land portions R of both the sealing faces, and a plurality of independently-formed minute recessed sections 11 is provided at positions on the sealing face IS between the dynamic pressure generation grooves 10 and the leakage side, the positions being separated in the radial direction from the dynamic pressure generation grooves. The slide component can make the sealing faces fluid-lubricant and low frictional and prevent leakage of a sealed fluid and incoming of dust to the sealing faces at the time of normal operation.

Sintered bearing and method of manufacturing same

A sintered bearing includes a sintered metal formed by using a metal powder mixture containing copper powder and iron powder. The metal powder mixture contains 80 wt % or more of particles having an average particle diameter of less than 45 m. The copper powder contains electrolytic copper powder. The electrolytic copper powder contains 40 number % or more of particles having a circularity of 0.64 or more.

Yet further included is an axial shaft operatively coupled to the compressor and the turbine, the axial shaft disposed within the housing and between a first plurality of bearings. Also included is a radial shaft extending from the axial shaft, the radial shaft disposed within the housing and between a second plurality of bearings. Further included is at least one sensor mounted to the housing and oriented to monitor deflection of the radial shaft.

In a friction bearing or part, particularly a half thereof, slots or grooves are formed running in the peripheral direction. The depth and width of the grooves are designed to be larger in at least one axial edge area.

According to one embodiment, a rotating anode X-ray tube includes a fixed shaft, a rotor, a lubricant, target, and a supporting member. The fixed shaft includes a small-diameter portion provided with a first radial bearing surface including first grooved surfaces, and a large-diameter portion provided with a second radial bearing surface including second grooved surfaces. The rotor includes a third radial bearing surface. The lubricant is filled in a gap between the fixed shaft and the rotor, and drawn by the first and second grooved surfaces.

Inertance-integrated damping system for wheel assembly bushings

A wheel assembly bushing for in-wheel electric motors where the bushing includes a hydraulic chamber positioned within a resilient sleeve of the bushing and a helical fluid channel that extends helically about an inner bushing member between first and second fluid channel ends, which are arranged in fluid communication with the hydraulic chamber. An outer body extends annularly about the resilient sleeve, which permits relative movement between the inner bushing member and the outer body. The fluid channel is configured to produce inertance. This inertance, when combined with other damping and stiffness effects of the wheel assembly bushing, provides phase and magnitude shifts between force and velocity, which ultimately reduce magnetic gap deformation in the in-wheel electric motor.

POLYCRYSTALLINE DIAMOND COMPACT

In an embodiment, a method of fabricating a polycrystalline diamond compact is disclosed. The method includes sintering a plurality of diamond particles in the presence of a metal-solvent catalyst to form a polycrystalline diamond body; leaching the polycrystalline diamond body to at least partially remove the metal-solvent catalyst therefrom, thereby forming an at least partially leached polycrystalline diamond body; and subjecting an assembly of the at least partially leached polycrystalline diamond body and a cemented carbide substrate to a high-pressure/high-temperature process at a pressure to infiltrate the at least partially leached polycrystalline diamond body with an infiltrant. The pressure of the high-pressure/high-temperature process is less than that employed in the act of sintering of the plurality of diamond particles.

A method of manufacturing a fluid bearing apparatus includes plating a metallic base material including a cylindrical base material inner circumferential surface, and pressing by bringing a contact portion of a pressing member into contact with a plating layer on the base material inner circumferential surface in the plating step. At least a portion of the pressing member including the contact portion has a Young's modulus equal to or greater than a Young's modulus of the base material. In the pressing step a surface of the plating layer is smoothened without causing a plastic deformation of the base material by bringing the pressing member into contact with the plating layer.
