COMPACT ROTARY SEAL
20200171587 · 2020-06-04 · ·

This invention relates to simple, compact rotary seals that contract to maintain a seal as the sealing elements may wear over time. Embodiments of this invention allow simple elastic rings, such as an O-ring, to be used as the sealing element.

SLEW BEARING, METHOD FOR USING A SLEW BEARING, HOISTING CRANE AND VESSEL

A slew bearing includes a stationary bearing ring to be fixed to a base, and a moveable bearing ring to be fixed to a moveable object, wherein the stationary bearing ring and the moveable bearing ring are configured to enable rotation of the moveable bearing ring relative to the stationary bearing ring about a rotation axis. A main axial bearing and an auxiliary bearing are provided between the stationary bearing ring and the moveable bearing ring, wherein the moveable bearing ring includes one or more main portions and one or more auxiliary portions, which one or more main portions are moveable relative to the one or more auxiliary portions between an operational position, in which the main axial bearing transfers the axial loads between moveable bearing ring and stationary bearing ring, and a raised maintenance position, in which the auxiliary axial bearing transfers the axial loads between moveable bearing ring and stationary bearing ring and the main bearing is allowed to be inspected and/or maintained so that the slew bearing during inspection and/or maintenance is still operational.

BEARING ARRANGEMENT

The present disclosure relates to a bearing arrangement for supporting a shaft, in particular a shaft of a gearing mechanism for an electromechanical brake booster, having: at least one bearing, a shaft, which is at least section-wise accommodated in the at least one bearing and has a protruding, rounded region on at least one of its axial end surfaces, at least one spring element, that engages the protruding, rounded region in order to prestress the shaft in the axial direction.

MUD-LUBRICATED BEARING ASSEMBLY WITH LOWER SEAL

A mud-lubricated bearing section including a seal assembly for directing a fluid flowing through a mud-lubricated bearing into a central bore of a mandrel. At least one mud-lubricated bearing is positioned in an annular space between the mandrel and a housing. The seal assembly directs the fluid from the annular space through a mandrel fluid port into the mandrel central bore. The seal assembly seals the annular space, and includes a piston, a plug, and a chamber between the piston and the plug. The piston is configured for axial movement relative to the mandrel and the housing, while the plug is axially fixed relative to the mandrel and/or the housing. The chamber is configured to contain a lubricating fluid. The piston includes inner and outer seals. The plug includes a lower seal and a passage allowing the fluid from the chamber to reach the lower seal for lubrication.

MULTI-AXIS PIVOTING COUPLER JOINTS AND DRIVETRAIN ARCHITECTURES FOR INTELLIGENT ELECTRIC SCOOTERS

Presented are multi-axis pivoting coupler joints for motorized vehicles, methods for making/using such coupler joints, and electric scooters with multi-axis pivoting coupler joints enabling multimodal scooter operation. A pivoting coupler joint includes first and second bearing assemblies each with a respective housing, respective inner and outer races concentric with each other and located in their respective housing, and a respective set of rolling elements rollably interposed between their respective inner and outer races. The first inner race of the first bearing assembly receives therethrough and circumscribes an axle shaft of a vehicle wheel. The second inner race attaches to a wheeled rider deck of the vehicle. The first and second bearing housings are joined together and angularly offset from each other. For some applications, the first bearing assembly includes a pair of longitudinally spaced needle roller bearings, and the second bearing assembly includes a pair of longitudinally spaced tapered bearings.

STRUCTURAL SUSPENSION OF RADIAL TURRET BEARINGS

A structural suspension of radial turret bearing wheels in a turret bearing comprises a rail support structure mounted on a turret bearing support structure, a circular rail mounted to the rail support structure, and a plurality of radial wheels running on the mainly vertical inner side of the rail.

The suspension includes a vertical flexible shaft, for each radial wheel, supported by an upper and lower support with a part of the shaft protruding with the radial wheel mounted close to the outer end.

The inner side of the rail is a frustum with the shortest radius at the top and an aperture of 2custom-character, and the outer mainly planar contacting surface of the wheel has an angle relative to the rotational axis of the wheel, and is overlaid with a convex curvature across the contacting surface.

AUTOMOTIVE INTERMEDIATE SHAFT TRANSMISSION ARRANGEMENT

An automotive intermediate shaft transmission arrangement includes a rotatably and floatingly supported intermediate shaft body which supports an external input toothing and an external output toothing rotationally fixed. The input toothing is oppositely angled with respect to the output toothing so that the resulting axial forces act in opposite directions with respect to each other. The intermediate shaft body is exclusively supported by a plurality of floating radial rolling bearings. Two longitudinal ends of the intermediate shaft body are respectively axially supported by an axial bearing.

In a spindle device, a movable member is provided on a cover member, which is attached to a spindle housing and covers the outer peripheral surface of a chuck portion which is a disk-shaped rotating member. The movable member is moved by a gas flowing through a flow passage formed in the cover member and thereby brought into contact with the chuck portion. The movable member is electrically connected to a ground.
