The second bearing is connected with the first annular recess, the second annular recess and the second shaft and has a second axial thickness. The spacer is disposed between the first bearing and the second bearing and has a third axial thickness. The sum of the first axial thickness, the second axial thickness and the third axial thickness is greater than the sum of the first axial depth and the second axial depth.

SEALING DEVICE

A sealing device includes a reinforcing ring having annular shape around an axis line and an elastic body part formed from an elastic body, the elastic body part being attached to the reinforcing ring and having an annular shape around the axis line. The elastic body part includes an annular seal lip and an annular side lip that is provided on an outer side of the seal lip and that extends toward the outer side. In an inner peripheral surface of the side lip on an inner periphery side, at least one circumferential groove which is a groove having an annular shape around the axis line is provided and at least one axial groove which is a groove extending along a direction of the axis line is provided. The circumferential groove and the axial groove are connected with each other.

Downhole motor bearing pack

A rotatable bearing assembly transfers a weight of a drill string to a mud motor output shaft extending therethrough. The bearing assembly includes an outer bearing housing, an upper radial bearing assembly providing an upper radial bearing between the outer bearing housing and the output shaft, a balance piston that fluidly seals an upper end of the outer bearing housing and balances a pressure within the outer bearing housing, a lower radial bearing/seal assembly configured to both fluidly seal a lower end of the outer bearing housing and provide a lower radial bearing between the outer bearing housing and the output shaft, and a thrust bearing assembly received within the sealed interior of the outer bearing housing such that the bearing assembly initially operates in a sealed, lubricated mode and then a mud lube mode in the event of one or more seal failures. Other embodiments are also disclosed.

The wave generator of a strain wave gearing is provided with an ellipsoidally contoured wave generator plug and a wave generator bearing. The wave generator bearing is provided with an annular body fitted between inner and outer races in a sliding contact state. The annular body is composed of an endless coil spring and has a rigidity that is able to maintain a constant gap between the inner and outer races. The annular body also has a specified overall flexibility in the radial direction so that the annular body can be flexed into an ellipsoidal shape by the wave generator plug. Since sliding occurs between the annular body and the inner race when the wave generator plug rotates, it is possible to generate a wave motion in an externally toothed gear with a small rotational torque.
