Lubrication system
Embodiments are directed to solid lubricant assemblies for providing over temperature protection for bearings and gears in rotorcraft systems. A solid lubricant enters a fluid state above a certain temperature and is positioned so that fluid lubricant is applied to the bearings or gears.
MAIN BEARING HOUSING OF A WIND TURBINE
A main bearing housing for supporting a main rotor shaft of a wind turbine, wherein the main bearing housing defines a first end, a second end and a floor region intermediate the first and second ends. The main bearing housing comprises a first bearing arrangement positioned at the first end of the main bearing housing, a second bearing arrangement positioned at the second end of the main bearing housing, wherein the floor region includes a first oil sump positioned at the first bearing arrangement, and a second sump positioned at the second bearing arrangement. Advantageously, the embodiments of the invention provide that the bearings of the main bearing housing are lubricated by a lubrication system that includes sumps positioned at each of the fore and aft bearings of the main rotor shaft. The fore and aft bearings are therefore supplied with oil at suitable lubrication points and are part of the lubrication system that supplies oil to other components in the wind turbine that require oil lubrication, for example the gearbox and/or the generator bearings. The fore and aft bearings of the main bearing housing therefore do not require a separate lubrication system, such as a grease-based system and so the overall lubrication requirements for the nacelle are simplified.
ROTARY MACHINE WITH RECIRCULATING OIL LUBRICATION SYSTEM
A rotary machine includes a fixed internal body, a rotating external body and a lubrication system to lubricate one or more components of the internal body or external body during rotation. The lubrication system includes: an inlet conduit for a lubricant, formed in the internal body; one or more distribution conduits for the lubricant; a lubricant collection chamber between the external body and the internal body; and an outlet conduit communicating with the collection chamber.
BEARING CAGE
A bearing cage for large rolling-element bearings includes a first side part and a second side part and a plurality of bridge elements connecting the first and second side parts to form a plurality of cage pockets each configured to receive a rolling element. The at least one bridge element and/or the first side part and/or the second side part includes at least one opening, and an insert element is mounted in each of the at least one opening and configured to contact the rolling element.
CAGE SEGMENT FOR A SEGMENTED CAGE
A bearing cage segment for a segmented bearing cage includes a plurality of walls that define a pocket configured to receive a rolling element and an insert element captively retained in an opening in a first one of the plurality of walls. The insert element may be configured to guide a rolling element retained in the bearing cage and/or be configured as a lubricant reservoir.
Cage with pumping vane and bearing including cage with pumping vane
A cage for a bearing, including: a first annular segment; a second annular segment located radially inwardly of the first annular segment; a vane connected to the first annular segment and to the second annular segment and including a first axial end facing at least partly in a first axial direction parallel to an axis of rotation of the cage and a second axial end facing at least partly in a second axial direction, opposite the first axial direction, the second axial end off-set from the first axial end in a circumferential direction around the axis of rotation; and a curved surface connected to the first annular segment and the second annular segment and arranged to retain a ball of the bearing. The first annular segment, the second annular segment, the vane, and the curved segment define a channel passing through the cage.
OFFSET COMPOUND BEARING ASSEMBLY
Systems and methods are provided for a compound bearing assembly including an offset coupler supporting an inner bearing and an outer bearing for distributing a rotational loading of the compound bearing assembly. In some embodiments, at least one of the bearings comprises a bearing cage with a plurality of elongated openings for receiving a respective plurality of balls. The compound bearing assembly is configured to support a drive shaft of a supercharger system of a vehicle or some other rotational system.
Roller gearing element
An improved serviceability gearing element generally includes a support having a plurality of obstacles for co-operating with teeth of a neighboring gearing element. The gearing element further includes a pin, a roller mounted to move in rotation about the pin via a rotary guide, blocking bearings shaped substantially to prevent the roller from moving in translation along the pin, and one or more fasteners for fastening at least one of the blocking bearings to the support.
GREASE COMPOSITION AND ROLLING BEARING
There is provided a grease composition for improving the chemical stability of the grease composition and increasing the fatigue life of a member in which the grease composition is used. The problems can be solved by a grease composition including a poly-α-olefin; a urea-based thickener; molybdenum dithiophosphate; and barium sulfonate, wherein a difference between an SP value of the urea-based thickener and an SP value of the poly-α-olefin is 3.5 or less.
