The seal assembly comprises a first support ring which is fixed, a second support ring which is rotatable and radially outermost of the first support ring, and an annular seal interposed between the support rings and including an anchor portion, attached to the second support ring and at least a first and a second annular sealing lip, protruding cantilevered from the anchor portion, mounted by interference between the support rings, defining a sealing configuration, wherein they cooperate with distinct portions of the first support ring along respective annular contact lines, and set by centrifugal effect in a detaching configuration from the respective portions of the first support ring at speeds of the motorized wheel greater than a predetermined non-zero value.

SEAL ARRANGEMENT AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING A SEAL ARRANGEMENT

Provided is a seal arrangement for sealing an internal space between two components mounted for rotation relative to each other, in particular for sealing a wheel bearing. The seal arrangement comprises a first carrier element, which can be connected to the first component, and a second carrier element, which can be connected to the second component. A sealing element is formed on at least one of the carrier elements and rests against the respective other carrier element at least one contact point. It is provided that at least one opening is made in the first carrier element, into which a ventilation element is inserted. It is provided that a receiving space is formed on the ventilation element, which is delimited in the radial direction by a collar on a base body of the ventilation element, wherein a gas-permeable membrane or a porous body is arranged in the receiving space.

Sealing arrangement of a wheel bearing

A sealing arrangement comprising a carrier element connecting to a first bearing part, wherein the carrier element further includes an elastic element that includes a sealing lip, and a cavity between the first bearing part and a second bearing part, wherein the cavity is delimited by the carrier element, wherein the carrier element includes at least one aperture at a radial level of the cavity and the at least one aperture is sealed by a diaphragm connected to the carrier element, wherein at least one protective lip is provided on an opposite side of the diaphragm, and wherein the at least one protective lip is formed at the elastic element.

Bearing arrangement of a wind turbine

Bearing arrangement of a wind turbine, including a bearing with an outer ring and an inner ring and a lubrication fluid provided between both rings, and at least one sealing means arranged at each side of the bearing for sealing the gap between the outer and the inner ring, whereby each sealing means is fixed to one ring and contacts the other ring with a flexible lip-like sealing element, wherein a pressure device for at least temporarily providing a gas overpressure in the sealed gap for increasing the contact load of the lip-like sealing element to the ring is provided.

A sealing device for a bearing unit having an axis of rotation and providing; a static component placed on a non-rotatable outer ring having a reinforcement support that abuts the outer ring and elastomeric material disposed on the reinforcement support, the elastomeric material forming first and second lips; a rigid shield configured for placement on one of a rotatable hub and a rotatable inner ring; the first and second lips have an equilibrium position where they do not contact the metallic shield; the elastomeric material forming a third lip that contacts the rigid shield to form an internal volume of the sealing device, the second lip and the rigid shield define a labyrinth seal in communication with the internal volume; the second lip, does not extend a full three hundred sixty degrees around the axis of rotation. This creates a channel for drainage of contaminants from the internal volume.

AIR BEARING FOR USE AS SEAL

In order to effect a seal a porous material which comprises one side of two opposing surfaces is used to restrict and evenly distribute externally pressurized gas, liquid, steam, etc. between the two surfaces, exerting a force which is opposite the forces from pressure differences or springs trying to close the two faces together and so may create a non-contact seal that is more stable and reliable than hydrodynamic seals currently in use. A non-contact bearing is also disclosed having opposing surfaces with relative motion and one surface issuing higher than ambient pressure through a porous restriction, wherein the porous restriction is part of a monolithic porous body, or a porous layer, attached to lands containing a labyrinth, the porous restriction and lands configured to not distort more than 10% of a gap created from differential pressure between each side of the porous restriction.
