BEARING ASSEMBLY
A bearing assembly includes a bearing, in particular a non-locating bearing, for supporting a shaft within a housing. The bearing provides an inner ring and an outer ring. A radially outer surface of the outer ring and/or a radially outer surface of the shaft and/or a radially inner surface of the inner ring and/or a radially inner surface of the housing has a protection layer. The protection layer is a thermally expanding or shrinking layer being thermally heated and expanded to or shrunk on the respective radially inner surface and/or radially outer surface. Further, a method for manufacturing a bearing ring for such a bearing assembly is disclosed.
SOLENOID LOW FRICTION BEARING LINER
The present disclosure relates to a low friction bearing liner for a solenoid may include a low friction layer. The low friction layer may include a first fluoropolymer matrix component and a first thermoplastic filler component distributed throughout the first fluoropolymer matrix component. The content of the first fluoropolymer matrix component may be at least about 1 wt. % and not greater than about 99 wt. % for a total weight of the first low friction layer. The content of the first thermoplastic filler component may be at least about 1 wt. % and not greater than about 99 wt. % for a total weight of the first low friction layer.
VARIABLE GUIDE VANE ASSEMBLY AND BUSHING THEREFOR
A gas turbine engine, has: an annular gaspath extending around a central axis, the annular gaspath defined between a first casing and a second casing, the first casing defining pockets; and a variable guide vane assembly having: variable guide vanes circumferentially distributed around the central axis, the variable guide vanes having airfoils extending into the annular gaspath and extending between first and second pivot members at respective first and second ends of the airfoils, the variable guide vanes rotatable about respective spanwise axes, bushings received within the pockets of the first casing, the first pivot members of the variable guide vanes rollingly engaged to the bushings, and resilient members disposed radially between surfaces of the first casing and the bushings relative to the spanwise axes, the resilient members in abutment against both of the surfaces of the first casing and the bushings.
Blood pump bearing system with optimized geometry, materials, and manufacturing method
A rotor bearing system includes an inner bearing component and an outer bearing component. One of the bearing components includes at least three protrusions sized to form a close running proximity to the remaining component. A bearing gap between the inner bearing component and the outer bearing component is sized to exclude the entry of red blood cells between the bearing components during operation of the rotor bearing system and causing the bearing to operate in an elasto-hydrodynamic regime of mixed- or boundary-lubrication.
Flanged bearing outer ring unit
A flanged bearing outer ring unit includes an outer ring formed from metal and having a sliding interface and a polymeric flange attached to the sliding interface by overmolding and/or injection molding, and, optionally including an embedded metal or organo-sheet reinforcement. Also a method and a molding form for forming the flanged bearing outer ring unit.
BEARING MATERIAL AND SOLID LUBRICANT
A bearing material may include a matrix of polyamide-imide polymer material, and a solid lubricant particulate. The solid lubricant particulate may have a median particle size of less than 1 micrometre.
Split bearing, assembly, and method of making and using the same
A bearing including a bearing sidewall including a first circumferential end including an apex region, and a second circumferential end including a nadir region, where the first circumferential end and the second circumferential end are adapted to contact each other to form an interface, where at least one of the apex region or the nadir region includes a void to prevent contact between the apex region of the first circumferential end and the nadir region of the second circumferential end, where the bearing sidewall includes a substrate and a low friction material, and where at least one of the first circumferential end or the second circumferential end comprises an end face that is free of low friction material.
Sliding member
A sliding member includes a back-metal layer and a sliding layer on the back-metal layer, and the sliding layer has a sliding surface. The sliding layer includes a synthetic resin and fibrous particles dispersed in the synthetic resin. A volume ratio of the fibrous particles in the sliding layer is 1 to 15%, and the fibrous particles are made of semi-graphite having a nano indenter hardness of 1000 to 5000 MPa. An average aspect ratio of the fibrous particles is not less than 5, where an aspect ratio is defined as a ratio of a major axis to a minor axis of the fibrous particle viewed from the sliding surface. An average grain size of the fibrous particles in cross-sectional view perpendicular to the sliding surface is 5 to 50 μm.
Composite bearing and method of making and using the same
An assembly including an inner member; an outer member; and a bearing including a bearing sidewall including a flat portion, a first convex axial end, and a second convex axial end, where at least one of the inner member or the outer member is adapted to axially translate relative to the bearing, and where at least one of the first convex axial end or the second convex axial end is adapted to induce formation of a film on the bearing sidewall during the axial translation of at least one of the inner member or the outer member.
VEHICLE POWER TRANSMISSION MECHANISM
The present disclosure provides a vehicle power transmission mechanism including a drive source, a drive wheel, and a drive system that transmits power generated by the drive source to the drive wheel. The vehicle power transmission mechanism includes at least one coating portion provided on at least one region selected from a contact portion between components constituting the vehicle power transmission mechanism and a periphery of the contact portion. The coating portion contains at least a binder resin and a thermoplastic elastomer.
