A drive device includes a slide bearing; a shaft that passes through the slide bearing; a gear that is fixed to the shaft; and a grease composition that is held in a clearance between the slide bearing and the shaft. At least one of the slide bearing and the shaft is made of a resin. The clearance is in a range of 10 to 110 μm. The grease composition contains a hydrocarbon base oil and lithium soap serving as a thickener. A weight ratio of the hydrocarbon base oil to the lithium soap is in a range of 94.5:5.5 to 96.0:4.0. A consistency of the grease composition is in a range of 360 to 400.

A polyoxymethylene (POM) resin composition which is used for a resin molded article having a superior sliding characteristic. The POM resin composition contains: (A) 100 parts by mass of a POM resin; (B) 0.01-1 parts by mass of a hindered phenolic antioxidant; (C) 0.05-1 parts by mass of a nitrogen-containing compound; (D) 0.5-10 parts by mass of a modified olefin polymer; (E) 0.01-5 parts by mass of an alkylene glycol polymer; (F) 0.1-20 parts by mass of calcium carbonate; (G) 0.1-10 parts by mass of a partial ester of a polyhydric alcohol; and (H) 0.1-10 parts by mass of an a-olefin oligomer. An ISO tensile test piece, which is obtained by injection molding at a die temperature of 90° C. and a cylinder temperature of 200° C., is crushed, Soxhlet extraction is performed for 3 hours at 70° C. using methanol, and the alkylene glycol polymer is measured. The weight of the alkylene glycol polymer is 0.001 wt % or less relative to 100 wt % of the test piece.

A solar energy collection system can include support devices made with bearings. Such bearings can include an inner partially toroidal surface for sliding contact and support of an outer surface of a torque tube. The toroidal surface can be made with a single radius of curvature or multiple radiuses of curvature and cylindrical portions. The bearings can include connectors for connecting the bearing members to a support housing. The connectors can be tool-less connectors.

A polyacetal resin composition and a sliding member, the polyacetal resin composition having excellent performance with respect to friction/abrasion characteristics while maintaining good appearance of a molded article thereof or low occurrence of mold contamination during molding. The polyacetal resin composition contains at least (A) 100 parts by mass of a polyacetal resin, (B) 0.01 part by mass to 1 part by mass of a hindered-phenol-based antioxidant, (C) 0.3 part by mass to 5 parts by mass of silicone oil, (D) 0.1 part by mass to 1.0 part by mass of calcium carbonate, and (E) 0.02 part by mass to 0.2 part by mass of a fatty acid, the calcium carbonate (D) is precipitated calcium carbonate which is not surface-treated and which has an average particle diameter of 1μm or less, and the fatty acid (E) is a C12-30 fatty acid.

The tie rod end includes a housing with an inner bore that extends along a central axis. A stud is partially received in the inner bore and has a shank portion which extends out of the inner bore for attachment with a gearbox. The tie rod end further includes an elastic boot body which extends from a first boot end, which is sealed with the housing, to a second boot end. A boot bearing, which is made of a plastic material, is secured with the second boot end. The boot bearing is in a dynamic sealing engagement with the shank portion of the stud. The boot bearing presents a plurality of radially inwardly extending and annularly-shaped ribs that contact the shank portion.

A ball joint includes: a ball stud including a stud portion having one end portion connected to a structural member and another end portion, to which a ball portion is integrally joined; a housing made of metal and configured to support the ball portion to allow swinging and rotating movement of the ball portion; and a ball seat made of plastic and interposed between the housing and the ball portion. The ball seat includes a plurality of protrusions jutting out from the ball seat and inserted into a plurality of through holes formed in a bottom portion of the housing. The protrusions having pierced through the through holes are staked at their distal portions. A resin sliding bearing includes: a bearing surface for slidingly bearing a shaft; and a hollow that communicates with the bearing surface through to a different surface of the bearing.

The pivot joint assembly includes a housing with an opening which extends along an axis. A bearing is received in the opening and which has a cylindrical outer surface that is in slidable contact with another surface so that the bearing can slide in an axial direction relative to the housing. The bearing has a curved inner bearing surface. A ball joint has a ball stud, a housing and a ball seat. The seat is an elastic body in a tubular shape with the top and the bottom being open, and has a spherical space to accommodate a ball portion. The housing has a spherical inner face that is close to an outer periphery of the ball portion, to accommodate the ball portion in the inner face via the seat so as to support the ball stud. A clamped portion arranged at a peripheral end of the housing is clamped to press the seat so that the ball stud can be swung and rotated.
