Socket assembly
The socket assembly includes a housing that presents an inner wall which surrounds an open bore. A stud is partially received in the open bore with a bearing interposed between the inner wall and the stud. The bearing has a bearing piece, which is in surface-to-surface contact with the stud, and a preload piece which is elastically compressed to impart a biasing force on the bearing piece, thereby preloading the bearing piece against the stud. The preload piece is in an overmolded engagement with the bearing piece to securely couple these pieces together such that the bearing can be inserted into the open bore of the housing together as a unit. The bearing and preload pieces are made of different materials with different elasticities.
Polyacetal resin composition and sliding member
A polyoxymethylene (POM) resin composition which is used for a resin molded article having an excellent sliding characteristic and wear resistance property and also having an excellent surface property and peeling resistance property. This POM resin composition contains: (A) 100 parts by mass of a POM resin; (B) 0.01-1 parts by mass of a hindered phenolic antioxidant; (C) 0.05-1 parts by mass inclusive of a nitrogen-containing compound; (D) 0.5-10 parts by mass of a modified olefin polymer which is an olefin polymer that has been modified by an unsaturated carboxylic acid or the like; (E) 0.01-5 parts by mass of an alkylene glycol polymer that has a primary or secondary amino group and a number average molecular weight of 400-500,000; (F) 0.1-20 parts by mass of calcium carbonate which has a BET specific surface area of 15 m2/g or less, has a mean particle size of 50-200 nm or less, is surface-untreated, and is substantially cubic; (G) 0.1-10 parts by mass of a partial ester of a divalent to tetravalent alcohol; and (H) 0.1-10 parts by mass of an -olefin oligomer.
SLIDING RAIL HAVING POLYFORMALDEHYDE (POM) GROOVES
A sliding rail includes a base, a connecting piece, a plurality of elastic pieces and a slider. The connecting piece passes through the elastic pieces and the slider, and is fixedly mounted on the base. The base has a pair of sliding chutes, a plurality of block pieces and a pair of POM grooves embedded into the sliding chutes. The slider has a pair of sliding strips and a plurality of plates. The elastic pieces are located between the block pieces and the plates. The sliding strips of the slider are accommodated in the POM grooves and slide on the base along the POM grooves. After the slider slides for a certain distance relative to the base, the elastic pieces makes the slider to back to the original position.
DUST BOOT FOR A TIE ROD END OF A SICKLE BAR OF A COMBINE AND A METHOD OF MAKING
The tie rod end includes a housing with an inner bore that extends along a central axis. A stud is partially received in the inner bore and has a shank portion which extends out of the inner bore for attachment with a gearbox. The tie rod end further includes an elastic boot body which extends from a first boot end, which is sealed with the housing, to a second boot end. A boot bearing, which is made of a plastic material, is secured with the second boot end. The boot bearing is in a dynamic sealing engagement with the shank portion of the stud. The boot bearing presents a plurality of radially inwardly extending and annularly-shaped ribs that contact the shank portion.
TONER TRANSPORTING DEVICE, DEVELOPING DEVICE, AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
A toner transporting device includes a bearing, an opposing section, a flange, and an engaging section. The bearing has an inner ring supporting a shaft, rolling elements disposed on an outer periphery of the inner ring, and an outer ring disposed around the rolling elements to surround the inner ring. The opposing section is disposed facing a first side of the inner and outer rings. The flange is provided at a second edge at a second side of the outer ring, extends in a direction of the shaft, and covers at least a part of a second end surface at the second side of the inner ring. The engaging section serves as a first edge at the first side of the outer ring, extends out relative to a first end surface at the first side of the inner ring, and engages with the opposing section in a relatively movable manner.
SLIDE BEARING FOR A SUPPORT MOUNT, METHOD FOR PRODUCING A SLIDE BODY AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING A SLIDE BEARING
A slide bearing for a support mount of a motor vehicle includes a first housing part, a second housing part, and a slide bearing device arranged between the two housing parts. In embodiments, the slide bearing device includes at least a first slide body and at least a second slide body. With embodiments, at least a section of the first slide body is made of a hybrid material. A method of producing a slide body and a method of producing a slide bearing are also disclosed.
FIBER REINFORCED BEARING FOR A BALL SOCKET ASSEMBLY, BALL SOCKET ASSEMBLY THEREWITH AND METHODS OF CONSTRUCTION THEREOF
A ball socket assembly, bearing therefor, and method of construction thereof are provided. The ball socket assembly includes a housing with an inner bore extending between a closed first end region and an open second end region. A fiber-reinforced bearing is disposed in the inner bore. The bearing has a lower portion presenting a lower bearing surface having a first radius of curvature and an upper portion presenting an upper bearing surface having a second radius of curvature that is greater than the first radius of curvature. The lower bearing surface and the upper bearing surface surround a ball cavity in which a spherical ball portion of a ball stud is disposed. The housing second end region is plastically deformed radially inwardly to impart a bias on the bearing upper portion to fix the bearing and the ball portion in the housing. The bias causes the second radius of curvature to be biased substantially equal to the first radius of curvature.
