An integrated plastic shield bearing assembly including a plastic shield for preventing contamination of running surfaces of a bearing assembly is disclosed. The integrated plastic shield bearing assembly includes an inner bearing ring defining an inner race, an outer bearing ring defining an outer race, and a plurality of rolling elements supported between the inner race and the outer race. A first one of the inner bearing ring or the outer bearing ring includes a circumferential groove. The plastic shield includes a molding portion molded on to the circumferential groove of the first one of the inner bearing ring or the outer bearing ring, and a shield portion extending towards a second one of the inner bearing ring or the outer bearing ring.

A bearing assembly includes a bearing unit formed from a stationary bearing ring configured to be connected to a stationary component and a rotatable bearing ring configured to be connected to a rotatable component and a bearing carrier connected to the stationary bearing ring in a rotationally fixed manner, for example, by overmolding. The bearing carrier includes at least one notch that exposes at least one section of the stationary bearing ring.

Slotted entry bearing with molded seal

A method of manufacturing a slotted entry bearing assembly includes inserting an inner race into a central space of an outer race. The outer race is configured to receive the inner race through at least one slot. Once the inner race is fully inserted into the outer race, it is rotated approximately ninety degrees within the center space, effectively locking the inner race within the outer race. After the inner race is rotated ninety degrees, a molded seal is molded between the inner race and the at least one slot. The molded seal adheres to the at least one slot and is made of a polymeric material. The molding process used to mold the molded seal may be compression molding.

A method includes grinding end faces of the socket and/or second ring to reduce an axial depth of the grooves in the insulating layer.

The present invention provides a method for manufacturing a composite double-metal fracture splitting connecting rod, comprising the steps of: providing a moveable spacer at a large end of a mold cavity of a connecting rod, to divide the mold cavity into two separate parts; casting a connecting rod body and a connecting rod cap with material for the main body of the connecting rod; removing the spacer from the mold cavity when the majority of the material is solidified, then injecting material for a fracture splitting region into an empty mold cavity obtained after the removal of the spacer, and metallurgically bonding the two types of material to form a composite double-metal casting; then, separating the connecting rod body from the connecting rod cap by a fracture splitting apparatus along preset fracture surfaces; and positioning and accurately assembling through engaged staggered structures on the two fracture surfaces.

A bearing apparatus for mounting a camshaft in a cylinder head of an internal combustion engine may include a bearing element that surrounds a bearing ring in which the camshaft is rotatably mounted or mountable. The bearing element may be made of a first material whose expansion coefficient is greater than an expansion coefficient of a second material of which the bearing ring is made. An outer surface of the bearing ring may include a contour that engages in a form-fitting manner with a mating contour formed on an inner surface of the bearing element that surrounds the bearing ring. The contouring formed by the contour and the mating contour may form retaining structures that brace against one another in instances of thermal expansion.
