Disclosed herein is a sliding member for an internal-combustion engine of an automobile or the like. The sliding member has excellent sliding properties due to high oleophilicity of its sliding surface achieved by adjusting the surface texture of a resin layer forming the sliding surface, which makes it possible to effectively prevent wear or seizure of the sliding member and a counterpart sliding member thereof. The sliding member includes a resin layer provided on a surface of a base material, in which the resin layer has a surface roughness of 1.05 or more, preferably 1.07 or more. The mean spacing (s) between local peaks of the resin layer may be in the range of 2 μm or more but 12 μm or less, but may be preferably in the range of 2 μm or more but 10 μm or less. Further, the mean height (Rc) of the resin layer may be in the range of 0.5 μm or more but 5.0 μm or less, but may be preferably in the range of 0.5 μm or more but 3.0 μm or less.

For this purpose, a linear motion guide device includes a guide rail (1), a slider (2), and a plurality of rolling elements (4), and the guide rail (1) and the slider (2) individually have raceway surfaces (11, 21), which form a rolling path (3) of the rolling elements (4), at positions opposite to each other. Then, the rolling elements (4) are disposed in the rolling path (3), and the slider (2) moves with respect to the guide rail (1) via the rolling elements (4). The raceway surface (21) of at least one of the slider (2) and the guide rail (1) is composed of: a first raceway surface (21A); and second raceway surfaces (21B) extending on both sides of the first raceway surface (21), and surface roughness of the second raceway surfaces (21B) is set rougher than surface roughness of the first raceway surface (21A).

CHARGING ROLL

A charging roll includes a core member, a rubber base material disposed around the core member, and a surface layer disposed around the rubber base material. The ten point height of irregularities R.sub.Z of a surface of the surface layer is equal to or greater than 3.9 micrometers, and is equal to or less than 6.1 micrometers. The mean spacing between peaks S.sub.m of the surface of the surface layer is equal to or greater than 12.5 micrometers and is equal to or less than 13.5 micrometers.

Crankshaft

The invention relates to a crankshaft (1) for a reciprocating piston internal combustion engine having at least two main bearings (2) a crank pin (3). Crankshaft flanges (4) are arranged between each of the main bearings and the crank pin and connect the main bearings to the crank pin. The crankshaft has at least one ring gear (5) spaced apart axially from a main bearing for a drive of a chain drive. A crankshaft surface between the main bearing and the first ring gear has an averaged roughness depth R z of less than 3 micrometres. Due to the configuration of the crankshaft according to the invention for a reciprocating piston internal combustion engine, higher torsional moments can be transmitted or the crankshaft can be designed to be lighter in the area having the higher surface quality.

An interference fit connection for a shaft comprises a hub having a conical through opening and a reduction sleeve having a cylindrical through opening for arrangement on the shaft and a conical outer circumference, where the cone angle of the conical outer circumference corresponds to the cone angle of the corresponding conical through opening of the hub. The hub is a two-component part having a first component made of steel and a second component made of fiber-reinforced plastics material. The second component made of fiber-reinforced plastics material is designed as a ring which is arranged on the outer circumference of a sleeve portion of the first component, which sleeve portion surrounds the reduction sleeve, so as to surround this sleeve portion. The fiber-reinforced plastics material has a higher modulus of elasticity than the steel of the first component.
