An anti-electrolytic corrosion rolling bearing is provided which includes an inner ring and an outer ring, rolling elements, and a thermal-sprayed ceramic film having electrical insulating properties, and disposed on one or each of the inner peripheral surface of the inner ring and the outer peripheral surface of the outer ring. The thermal-spray material forming the thermal-sprayed ceramic film contains, as the main component of thereof, alumina particles having particle sizes of 5 to 60 μm and an average particle size of 30 to 60 μm. The thermal-sprayed ceramic film is densified by filling the pores between the alumina particles, with a predetermined amount of glassy melts of a metal oxide having a melting point lower than that of the alumina, such as silica, yttria, titania or zirconia, and having an average particle size of 5 to 40 μm.

A sliding member 100 according to the present disclosure includes a base member 10 and a hard carbon coating 12 that is formed on the base member 10 and has the hydrogen content of 3 atomic % or less and a thickness of 3 μm or more. When HM represents a Martens hardness of the hard carbon coating 12 and HIT represents an indentation hardness, the ratio HM/HIT is 0.40 or more.

Embodiments disclosed herein relate to bearing assemblies and methods of manufacturing. In an embodiment, a bearing assembly includes a support ring and bearing elements. The bearing elements are mounted to and distributed circumferentially about an axis of the support ring. At least one of the bearing elements includes a polycrystalline diamond table, a substrate bonded to the polycrystalline diamond table, bonding region defined by the substrate and the polycrystalline diamond table, and a corrosion resistant region. The corrosion resistant region includes a corrosion resistant material that covers at least a portion of at least one lateral surface of the bonding region. The corrosion resistant region prevents corrosion of at least some material in the bonding region covered by the corrosion resistant region (e.g., during use). Other embodiments employ one or more sacrificial anodes as an alternative to or in combination with the corrosion resistant region.

A base material of each of the rollers has an external surface having a surface roughness of Ra≤0.3 and RΔq≤0.05. The DLC coating having the multilayer structure includes layers having stepwisely increasing film hardnesses such that a layer situated closer to outside has a higher hardness.
