SLIDING MEMBER AND PISTON RING
A sliding member having a hard carbon coating that has a thickness of 3 m or more and demonstrates high peeling resistance and high wear resistance is provided. A sliding member 100 according to the present disclosure includes a base member 10 and a hard carbon coating 12 that is formed on the base member 10 and has the hydrogen content of 3 atomic % or less and a thickness of 3 m or more. When HM represents a Martens hardness of the hard carbon coating 12 and HIT represents an indentation hardness, the ratio HM/HIT is 0.40 or more.
Sliding contact surface-forming material, slide bearing containing same, and method of using same in a moist environment
A sliding contact surface-forming material with improved friction-proof and wear-proof characteristics under dry friction conditions such as in the open air, while keeping the low swelling, friction-proof, and wear-proof characteristics under moist atmosphere typically under water unchanged, wherein the sliding contact surface-forming material includes a reinforcing base impregnated with a resol-type phenolic resin having polytetrafluoroethylene resin dispersed therein, the reinforcing base being composed of a woven fabric formed by using, respectively as the warp and the weft, a ply yarn which is formed by paralleling at least two strands of a single twist yarn spun from fluorine-containing resin fiber and a single twist yarn spun from polyphenylene sulfide fiber, and by twisting them in the direction opposite to the direction in which the single twist yarns were spun.
Flanged inner ring for wheel hub bearings
A flanged inner ring for wheel hub bearings, the inner ring comprising a tubular body supporting the bearing, the body being coaxial with an axis (A), and a flange, which is transversal to the axis (A), the flange being provided with a plurality of threaded through holes that are distributed around the axis (A) and includes: an outer annular mounting surface and an inner surface that is axially faced towards an outer ring of the bearing; the flange having a respective base axial thickness (SAF) and comprising for each threaded through hole, a respective radial arm which is arranged on the inner surface of the flange facing the outer ring; the inner ring being forged in one piece together with the flange and the radial arms. Between each pair of adjacent arms there is a flower-shaped sector with a chamfer made by forging along the outer surface thereof.
Vehicular propeller shaft
A vehicular propeller shaft through which a rotary motion of a drive power source is transmitted to drive wheels and which includes a first tubular member and a second tubular member. The first tubular member has a large-diameter cylindrical section, a small-diameter cylindrical section having a smaller outside diameter than the large-diameter cylindrical section, and a tapered cylindrical section formed between one end of the large-diameter cylindrical section and the small-diameter cylindrical section. The large-diameter cylindrical section, the small-diameter cylindrical section and the tapered cylindrical section are formed integrally with each other. The second tubular member is coaxially joined to the first tubular member and formed of a material having a higher degree of strength than the first tubular member.
Bearing component and method of making and using the same
A bearing component including a substrate; a sliding layer overlying the substrate; and a metal mesh comprising filaments embedded in the sliding layer, the metal mesh having a woven structure such that the filaments overlap each other at intersections, where a plurality of intersections include a first filament overlying a second filament, the first filament being mechanically so as to interlock with the second filament.
CONSTANT VELOCITY UNIVERSAL JOINT AND CAGE THEREOF
A constant velocity universal joint is provided which includes an inner ring and an outer ring. A cage is disposed between an outer spherical surface of the inner ring and an inner spherical surface of the outer ring, and has windows in which respective balls are received. The cage has ball contact surface areas with which the balls come into contact, and includes soft portions that are lower in hardness than the ball contact surface areas. The soft portions are formed by local heat treatment at portions of the windows that are kept out of contact with the balls or surface portions around the windows.
HALF THRUST BEARING, THRUST BEARING, BEARING DEVICE, AND INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
This half thrust bearing having a half-ring shape has: a sliding surface for receiving force in the axial direction; a back surface opposed to the sliding surface; and a resin covering layer on the sliding surface. The half thrust bearing is characterized in that the thickness of the resin covering layer is greatest at the circumferential central part of the half thrust bearing, and becomes lesser toward both circumferential ends of the half thrust bearing. The present invention also pertains to a thrust bearing, a bearing device, and an internal combustion engine.
BEARING BUSH
A bearing bush includes at least one sealing element and one bearing element. The sealing element is provided with at least one sealing lip. The bearing element is substantially tubular. The bearing element includes a plurality of protrusions extending in the axial direction on the outer circumference. The inner diameter of the bearing element is larger in the sections corresponding to the protrusions than in the remaining sections.
Polycrystalline diamond compacts and methods of fabricating same
Embodiments of the invention relate to methods of fabricating leached polycrystalline diamond compacts (PDCs) in which a polycrystalline diamond table thereof is leached and resized to provide a leached region having a selected geometry. Creating a leached region having such a selected geometry may improve the performance of the PDC in various conditions, such as impact strength and/or thermal stability.
DEEP GROOVE BALL BEARING
To provide a deep groove ball bearing used under a lean lubrication condition or a non-lubrication condition, the deep groove ball bearing being capable of achieving a long lifetime without generating break of a retainer due to delay and progress of balls. The deep groove ball bearing includes an inner ring, an outer ring, a plurality of balls interposed between the inner ring and the outer ring, and a riveted corrugate steel plate retainer that retains the balls, the deep groove ball bearing being used under a lean lubrication condition or a non-lubrication condition. The retainer includes a fluroresin coating film having a thickness of 15 m or more formed on at least a raceway surface of the inner ring or the outer ring, or an inner portion of the retainer slid on the balls. The fluororesin coating film is preferably formed of a baked polytetrafluoroethylene resin or the like.
