A coated bearing component comprising a metallic part and a coating deposited on the metallic part. The coating is a multi-layer coating having a sensor active layer made of a material having electrostrictive properties. The sensor active layer is directly coated on the metallic part. The bearing component can be integrated into a bearing.

SLIDING COMPONENT

A sliding component includes a pair of sliding parts each having an annular sliding face to relatively slide on each other. At least one of the sliding faces has a plurality of dimples disposed thereon. The dimples have substantially the same opening diameter, and are provided independently of each other. The ratio between the depth h and the diameter D of the dimples is set in a range of 1/500 to 1/10. The dimples are arranged randomly such that the area ratio of the dimples within a 120 unit angle in a circumferential direction of a sliding face is in a range of 8% to 50%.

A laminate includes a metal substrate and a sliding layer overlying the metal substrate. The sliding layer can include a polymer fabric. The polymer fabric can include first polymer P1. The sliding layer can further included a melt-processable matrix polymer. The melt-processable matrix polymer can include a second polymer P2. In embodiments, either P1 or P2 is a fluoropolymer. The sliding layer can further include a filler. In embodiments, the total amount of fluoropolymer and filler in the sliding layer is at least 30 vol %.

Duplex hardened cage pilot surface for bearing ring

A method of forming a bearing ring having improved hardness is disclosed herein. The method generally includes a duplex hardening process in which the bearing ring is first subjected to a heat treatment. After the heat treatment process, the bearing ring undergoes a nitriding treatment in predetermined portions, including at least a raceway and a cage pilot surface.
