A sealing device for sealing a gap between inner and outer members includes a mounted part attached to a cylindrical end of the outer member; at least one lip disposed radial inside the mounted part and extending toward the inner member; an annular part covering an end surface of the end of the outer member; and an annular flange formed from an elastic material connected to the annular part and disposed radial outside the end of the outer member. The inner member includes an inner portion disposed radial inside the outer member; a flange extending radially outward from the inner portion; and a through-hole formed in the flange for inserting a screw for securing the inner member to another member. The outer edge of the flange of the sealing device is disposed radial outside a portion of the through-hole that is the closest to the central axis.
SECONDARY SEALING DEVICE FOR WHEEL BEARING ASSEMBLIES
A secondary sealing device is for a wheel bearing assembly including a fixed inner axle with an outer circumferential surface and a bearing inner race, an outer hub rotatable about the inner axle and having an inner circumferential surface and a bearing outer race, rolling elements disposed between the inner and outer races, and a primary seal(s) connected with the inner axle and sealingly engaged with the outer hub. The secondary sealing device includes a rigid annular body having an inner radial end coupled with the inner axle and an outer radial end spaced radially inwardly from the inner circumferential surface of the outer hub so as to define an annular gap between the body and the outer ring. The body is located between the primary seal and an axial end of the hub so as to provide a barrier configured to prevent contaminants from contacting the primary seal.
WHEEL SUSPENSION CONTROL SYSTEM FOR A VEHICLE AND A METHOD OF CONTROLLING A SUSPENSION DEVICE
The invention relates to a wheel suspension control system for a vehicle. The system comprises a suspension device, a wheel end bearing, at least one vibration sensor and a processing circuitry. The vibration sensor is provided at or in the wheel end bearing for measuring vibrations propagated from the road wheel to the wheel end bearing when the road wheel travels on a road having surface variations, wherein the vibration sensor is configured to transmit measurement signals representing the measured vibrations. The processing circuitry is configured to receive the transmitted measurement signals and to control at least one suspension parameter of the suspension device based on the received measurement signals. The invention also relates to a vehicle and to a method for controlling a suspension device.
METHOD FOR ASSEMBLING AT LEAST ONE RING COOPERATING BY SHRINKING WITH A SHRINK-FITTING SURFACE OF A PART
A method for assembling a ring by shrinking the ring onto a shrink-fitting surface of a part, the shrink-fitting surface being turned radially away from a reference axis, the part having a free upper end and an inner wall extending around the reference axis turned radially toward the reference axis and extending axially while delimiting at least part of an axial cavity. The method including the steps of forming, on the inner wall, splines extending axially; shrinking the ring on the part so that a lower transverse face of the ring comes into abutment against a shoulder of the part. After the step of forming the splines and prior to the step of shrinking the ring onto the part, radial elastoplastic expansion of an upper portion of the part results in a widening of the shrink-fitting surface and of a portion of the splines.

Sensorised wheel hub unit and a method for detecting, in real time, forces and moments applied to an outer ring of the wheel hub unit in which piezoresistive ceramic plates are made of one piece with welded metal plates housed within respective recesses formed in an outer surface of the outer ring over respective races for rolling elements in such a way that there is a gap between the plates and a base wall of each recess; in which the temperature of the outer ring and the amplitude and frequency of first electrical signals (S1) associated with the sensors relating to the same race are analysed to determine a frequency value equal to the frequency of the first signal having the maximum amplitude and as many amplitude values (D1-Dn) as there are sensors associated with that race and each equal to the maximum amplitude of the first signal from each sensor, corrected according to the temperature.
OPTIMIZED WHEEL HUB ASSEMBLY
A bearing unit having an axis of rotation (X) for a wheel hub assembly for motor vehicles includes stationary radially outer ring, a rotatable wheel hub or first radially inner ring, a rotatable second radially inner ring having an axially external first axial contact edge, an axially internal second axial contact edge having a radially external first contact surface configured to abut a surface of the first radially inner ring, a radially internal second contact surface, and a relief groove interposed radially between the first contact surface and the second contact surface, two rows of rolling bodies interposed between the radially outer ring and the second radially inner ring, and a joint including a bell, the second contact surface contacting a surface of the bell and axial locks the radially inner ring, and the relief groove reducing contact between the second contact edge and the surface of the bell.
ENDPLAY OR PRELOAD SETTABLE LOCK NUT
A lock nut is useable for setting a bearing to preload or endplay. A plurality of preload markings are circumferentially spaced apart on the nut. The distance between the preload marking corresponding to a preselected amount of preload applied or reduced on said bearing when the nut is (i) tightened to apply a preload force to said bearing or (ii) loosened to reduce a preload force on said bearing, respectively. A plurality of endplay markings are also circumferentially spaced apart on the nut. The distance between the endplay markings, corresponding to a preselected amount of endplay increased or reduced in said bearing when the nut is (i) tightened to reduce endplay on the bearing or (ii) loosened to increase endplay in said bearing. The use of endplay and preload markings enables setting of a bearing on an axle or spindle to either an endplay setting or a preload setting by adjusting the rotation of the lock nut according to the endplay markings or the preload markings, respectively.
Wheel hub assembly for vehicles
A wheel hub assembly assembly having a central axis (X) and covers therefore. An outer ring provided with a tubular mounting portion, and a cover having a keying portion which is inserted inside the tubular mounting portion. The cover is made of plastic material, the keying portion comprises an annular seat made of plastic and a sealing element made of rubbery elastic material. The sealing element is defined by a solid of rotation mounted inside the annular seat over a whole of an axial length of the annular seat so as to project radially outside of the annular seat to make contact with the tubular mounting portion of the outer ring thereby sealingly closing the wheel hub assembly.

A wheel bearing outer ring with a plurality of fastening elements are configured to be fixed to the wheel bearing outer ring to a knuckle of a car are arranged at a radial outer side of the wheel bearing outer ring. A view of the wheel bearing outer ring with a line of vision being a central axis of the wheel bearing outer ring at least one angle between a first one of the fastening elements and a second one of the fastening elements, which are neighbouring with respect to the circumferential direction of the wheel bearing outer ring, differs from an angle between a third one of the fastening elements and one of the fastening elements, which is neighbouring to the third one of the fastening elements with respect to the circumferential direction. All the angles are measured with respect to the central axis and in the circumferential direction.
Dry-lubricating lead-in edge for press-fit assemblies and associated methods
A dry-lubricating apparatus, for press fitting onto a mating part, includes (a) a frame, (b) a rubber gasket fixed to the frame to create an interference with a mating surface of the mating part so as to enable the press fitting, and (c) a lead-in edge fixed to at least one of the frame and the rubber gasket. The lead-in edge includes a dry lubricant such that, when the dry-lubricating apparatus is slid onto the mating part, along the mating surface and with the rubber gasket trailing the lead-in edge, a portion of the dry lubricant is abraded off the lead-in edge to reduce friction between the rubber gasket and the mating surface.
