A hub for partially muscle-powered vehicles, including a hollow hub axle with a cylindrical inner through hole for the passage of a clamping axle, a hub shell rotatably supported relative to the hub axle by two hub bearings, a rotor rotatably supported relative to the hub axle, and a freewheel device with a hub-side freewheel component and a rotor-side freewheel component, each having axial engagement components for engagement with one another. The hub shell is rotatably supported relative to the hub axle in a rotor-side end region by a rotor-side hub bearing, and in an opposite end region of the hub shell by another hub bearing. The hub-side freewheel component is non-rotatably connected with the hub shell. The rotor-side freewheel component is non-rotatably connected with the rotor and is movable in the axial direction relative to the rotor and the hub shell between a freewheel position and an engagement position.

WHEEL BEARING SEALING ARRANGEMENT AND A VEHICLE
20220333648 · 2022-10-20 ·

There is provided a wheel bearing sealing arrangement for a wheel bearing of a vehicle, comprising an outboard bearing having an outboard periphery intended to face away from a central longitudinal axis of the vehicle and an inboard periphery intended to face towards the central longitudinal axis of the vehicle, wherein the outboard bearing comprises a first race-forming part and a second race-forming part which surrounds the first race-forming part; an outboard seal arranged between the first race-forming part and an opposite part; and a safety washer pressed against the outboard periphery of the first race-forming part, wherein the outboard seal comprises a sealing part pressed against and in direct contact with the safety washer. There is also provided a vehicle comprising such a wheel bearing sealing arrangement.

Wheel end apparatus with electric generator

In accordance with one aspect of the present disclosure, a wheel end apparatus for a vehicle is provided that includes a wheel hub assembly configured to be mounted to a spindle and a wheel hub of the wheel hub assembly. The wheel end apparatus includes a coil of wire and at least one magnet of the wheel hub assembly configured to move relative to one another with rotation of the wheel hub around the spindle. The wheel end apparatus includes a wheel end device operably coupled to the coil of wire to receive electrical power generated by relative movement of the coil of wire and the at least one magnet. Further, the wheel end apparatus includes communication circuitry operably coupled to the wheel end device and configured to wirelessly communicate wheel end device information with a wheel end monitoring device.

Hubcap for heavy-duty vehicles

A hubcap for a heavy-duty duty vehicle that includes mounting structure that is formed with and cooperates with a side wall of the hubcap to provide a stiff, rigid structure that enables non-cantilevered connection to a wheel hub. The mounting structure can be a plurality of elongated bosses circumferentially spaced about the side wall that are formed with corresponding elongated bolt openings to enable the non-cantilevered attachment to the wheel hub. The elongated bosses cooperate with the hubcap side wall to provide a stiffened or rigid structure between the elongated bolt openings for increased and more uniform clamping force on a sealing gasket between the hubcap and the wheel hub. The hubcap profile provides clearance for removal of an outboard mounted disc brake rotor in heavy-duty vehicle wheel end assemblies that include such rotor configurations. The hubcap may support simple mounting of a hub odometer.

Wheel hub unit with improved drainage
