Linear motion assembly

A linear motion assembly including a component having a longitudinal axis and adapted to translate along the longitudinal axis, and a bearing comprising a spiral body including a substrate and a low friction material, wherein the bearing extends around the component and provides a low friction interface for translation of the component, and wherein the bearing is adapted to prevent longitudinal translation of the component in a locked condition and permit longitudinal translation of the component in an unlocked condition. In an embodiment, the bearing is adapted to transition between the locked and unlocked conditions upon circumferential translation of an axial end of the spiral body, longitudinal translation of an axial end of the spiral body, or a combination thereof.

A bearing for a bicycle has an outer collar, an inner collar, and an annular gasket. The outer collar and the inner collar are each made of a material comprising one of a self-lubricating material or a metal coated with a self-lubricating coating. The inner collar is mounted rotatably in the outer collar. The annular gasket is mounted between the outer collar and the inner collar, abuts with corresponding surfaces of the outer collar and the inner collar, and is made of a material having a hardness harder than a hardness of the materials for the inner collar and the outer collar.

BICYCLE BOTTOM BRACKET ASSEMBLY

A bicycle bottom bracket assembly having a rotational central axis includes a support member, a bearing unit and a radially inward force reducing structure. The support member includes a hanger mounting portion and a bearing mounting portion. The bearing mounting portion is configured to be at least partly positioned within a hanger part of a bicycle frame. The bearing unit includes an outer race, an inner race and at least one roller element disposed between the outer and inner races in a radial direction with respect to the rotational central axis. The outer race is fixed to the bearing mounting portion of the support member. The radially inward force reducing structure reduces a radially inward force being transmitted to the bearing unit.

Roller Bearing Comprising a Multi-Component Plastics Bearing Ring

A rolling bearing, in particular a ball bearing, is in the form of two bearing rings that are mounted so as to be rotatable relative to each other about an axis. The roller bearing includes an inner ring and an outer ring which each form a guide portion of a guide. The guide portion surrounds the axis with the portion formed by the inner ring is radially opposite the portion formed by the outer ring. In the guide, rolling bodies are distributed around the axis and rest on the two guide portions. When the bearing rings rotate, the rolling bodies roll on the two guide portions. At least one of the rings has a slide ring as the guide portion and a stabilising ring on the slide ring. The slide ring and the stabilising ring are produced from first and second plastics materials, respectively. The first plastics material is softer than the second plastics material.
