Seed metering device drive system and method
A system for mechanically transmitting power from a common rotational drive shaft of a seeding implement to a geared outer periphery of a seed meter. The system includes a first transmission that connects to common rotational drive shaft, a flexible drive shaft coupled to the first transmission, and a second transmission coupled to the opposite end of the flexible drive shaft. A clutch assembly connects to a flexible drive shaft assembly to selectively allow power to be transmitted from the first transmission to the second transmission. The second transmission connects to the periphery of the seed meter. The seed plate of the seed meter includes a circumferential gear along a periphery to be driven by the second transmission.
Clamping hub
Embodiments of clamping hub are disclosed. In one embodiment, the clamping hub includes a non-circular aperture with a portion of the non-circular aperture being formed so as to be substantially flat. The clamping hub also includes a shaft securer aperture that is formed in a substantially flat wall that contributes to the substantially flat portion of the non-circular aperture.
Cylindrical Contact Polygon for Torque Transmission to a Driveshaft
The disclosure generally relates to transmission of torque from a housing to a drive shaft. More specifically, the disclosure relates to configuration of contact surfaces between a housing and shaft to increase transmission of torque. Tools such as drilling tools often require torque to be transmitted from a rotating housing to a driveshaft. This is often accomplished through threaded connections or splines. A threaded connection can be effective for transmitting torque by allowing two pieces to be securely joined by rotating and tightening to a specified torque. A splined connection can also be effective for transmitting torque, providing sufficient clearance for one member to slidingly receive the other without rotating and torqueing. A tapered polygon is another effective way to transmit torque that by virtue of tapering can take up clearances between the torque carrying components. As such, the tapered polygon does not introduce significant stress concentrations into the components.
Connecting structure and hydraulic drive device
Provided are a connecting structure and a hydraulic drive device capable of simply and reliably connecting two shaft bodies together while appropriately preventing rotation and runout therebetween. The connecting structure includes a first shaft body and a second shaft body connected to each other at respective end portions and provided so as to be rotatable integrally with each other about a rotation axis. An anti-runout support portion of the first shaft body and that of the second shaft body are engaged with each other so as to restrict relative movement between the first and second shaft bodies with respect to a radial direction. An anti-rotation support portion of the first shaft body and that of the second shaft body are engaged with each other so as to restrict relative movement between the first and second shaft bodies with respect to a rotation direction about the rotation axis.
Clutch device for compressor
A compressor includes a housing, a drive shaft rotatably engaged in the housing, a stator attached to the housing, a pulley rotatably attached to the housing and rotatable relative to the housing, a front plate attached to the drive shaft and rotated in concert with the drive shaft, and a lock device includes a lock member attached to the drive shaft and rotated in concert with the drive shaft, and the lock member is secured to the front plate for anchoring and securing the front plate and the lock member and the drive shaft together. The drive shaft includes a non-circular section, and the lock member includes a non-circular bore engaged with the drive shaft for preventing the lock member from being rotated relative to the drive shaft.
LOCKING RETAINER RING FOR A SHAFT ASSEMBLY
Retainer rings for locking in an N-sided shaft to restrict axial movement of components sandwiched between them. The retainer rings have inner edges bounding a central bore. The inner edges are defined by a series of N arcs whose distance from the bore's center decreases gradually along the inner edge from a first end to a second end of each arc. The rings are slid on to the shaft with the corners of the shaft aligned with the first ends of the arcs. Then the rings are rotated on the shafts toward the second ends of the arcs until the corners of the shafts jam against the inner edges. A special spanner wrench can be used to tighten and loosen the rings on the shaft.
Commodity metering system for work vehicle with transverse drive for metering element
A work vehicle includes an actuator, a metering element, and a powertrain configured to transmit power from the actuator to the metering element to drive the metering element in rotation about a first axis to meter a commodity at a predetermined rate. The powertrain includes an actuator output member supported for rotation about a second axis. The powertrain includes a metering input member that is fixed for rotation with the metering element about the first axis. The actuator output member is engaged with the metering input member for power transmission from the actuator output member to the metering input member. The first axis is transverse to the second axis.
Mechanism for disengaging hub from output shaft of motor
An object of the present invention is to provide a mechanism for disengaging a hub from an output shaft of a motor, which is convenient to propel the scooter/wheelchair manually. For this purpose, the present invention employs the following technical solution. The present invention discloses a mechanism for disengaging a hub from an output shaft of a motor; an output end of the output shaft is extended out of the motor; a coupling is fixedly sheathed on the output end of the output shaft; a hub, a movable sleeve and a compression spring are sheathed on the coupling; a stopper is fixed at an end of the output end of the output shaft; the compression spring is limited between the stopper and the movable sleeve; the hub has a central hub hole by which the hub is sheathed on the coupling; a plurality of first positioning grooves, which are arranged circularly and uniformly spaced apart from each other, are formed on an inner edge of the hub; a coupling bulge is provided in the circumference of the coupling, and a plurality of second positioning grooves, which are arranged circularly and uniformly spaced apart from each other, are formed on the coupling bulge; a plurality of first positioning bulges, which are arranged circularly and uniformly spaced apart from each other, are provided on the movable sleeve.
