A clutch includes a hub and a flange located radially inside and outside, respectively, with respect to the clutch rotational axis and associated with hub and flange sides of the clutch. A spring elastically supports the hub and flange sides against each other in the circumferential direction in a torque-transmitting manner. A bearing radially supports the hub and flange sides against one another for rotation around the axis and includes an outer ring supporting the hub and an inner ring supported on a bearing pin associated with the flange side. A friction device connects the hub and flange sides in a friction-locked and torque-transmitting manner in the circumferential direction and includes a friction element and a friction surface which are pretensioned against one another in the axial direction. A tensioning device includes a tensioning element that applies force to, and axially pretensions, the friction device and bearing.

The plurality of elastic members are configured to elastically couple the input-side rotor and the output-side rotor in a circumferential direction. The intermediate rotor is configured to actuate at least two of the plurality of elastic members in series. The intermediate rotor is rotatable relative to the input-side rotor and the output-side rotor. The first hysteresis generating mechanism is configured to apply a hysteresis torque to the intermediate rotor in elastic deformation of the plurality of elastic members.

The intermediate rotor is rotatable relative to the input-side rotor and the output-side rotor, and actuates at least two of the plurality of elastic members in series. The hysteresis generating mechanism includes a friction member slidable in contact with the input-side rotor, the output-side rotor and the intermediate rotor, and generates a hysteresis torque in elastic deformation of the plurality of elastic members.

Isolator for use with engine that is assisted or started by an MGU or a motor through an endless drive member

An isolator for isolating a device driven by an engine via an endless drive member is described. The isolator comprises a shaft adapter that is connectable with a shaft of the device, defining a shaft adapter axis, a rotary drive member that is rotatable relative to the shaft adapter and has an endless drive member engagement surface that is engageable with the endless drive member, and an isolation spring arrangement positioned to transfer torque between the shaft adapter and the rotary drive member. The isolation spring arrangement has at least one isolation spring that is axially offset from the endless drive member engagement surface. The at least one isolation spring has an outer edge that is radially outside the endless drive member engagement surface.

A torsion damping device for a vehicle drivetrain including a first rotary element, a second rotary element, an elastic device, a friction device comprising an actuating washer mounted to rotate as one with a friction washer and comprising an actuating tab interposed circumferentially between a first end of a spring and the first rotary element so as to allow relative rotation between the actuating washer and the second rotary element when the first end of the spring is compressed by the first rotary element in the direction of a second end of the spring opposite to the first end.

Reduced noise flexplate

A flexplate assembly comprising a central plate having a general disc shape disposed about and extending radially from an axis. The central plate has a first radial width. A ring gear is annularly secured about the central plate and presents an outer circumference that defines a plurality of ring teeth extending therefrom. At least one noise plate is disposed adjacent to the central plate and extends circumferentially about the axis for reducing vibrations and noise from the flexplate assembly. The noise plate has a second radial width that is at least one half of the first radial width of the central plate. A method of constructing such a flexplate assembly is also provided.
