The flexible interface includes a plurality of driven gear coupling members, each driven gear coupling member having a first connection portion attached to the driven gear, a second connection portion adapted to be attached to the wheel at an offset distance from the wheel axis, and a joint between the first connection portion and the second connection portion, the joint permitting relative movement between the first connection portion and the second connection portion.

Binary Passive Variable Stiffness Joint
20200254634 · 2020-08-13 ·

A variable stiffness joint and method to alter the stiffness of the joint with multiple stiffness levels is described wherein a plurality of stiffness bits (m) are used for enabling 2 m stiffness level variations for the joint. Each stiffness bit comprises an elastic element in mechanical connection with a clutch (21, 22, 23). The joint revolves with zero stiffness level when all the clutches (21, 22, 23) are disengaged whereas a clutch (21, 22, 23) involves one of the elastic elements which alter the stiffness of the joint. Engaging other clutches (21, 22, 23) involve more elastic elements for altering the joint stiffness and the resultant joint stiffness is determined by adding the stiffness values of all the involved springs (6, 7, 8).

Pivot flexure with uniform moment stiffness

Cross beam flexure pivot assembly includes a first housing member having a first arcuate member a second housing member having a second arcuate member wherein the first arcuate member extends into the second housing member and the second arcuate member extends into the first housing member. First, second and, third beams extend in first direction and fourth and fifth beams extend in a second direction all secured to first and second arcuate members. A first axis, second axis and radial axis of the first and second housing members form a common point of intersection. Total of cross section areas of beams extending in first direction and of beams extending in second direction are equal providing equal linear stiffness in both directions. Total moment stiffness about first axis equals total moment stiffness about the second axis.

Flexible Shock-Absorbing Parts and Flexible Damping Device
20200224728 · 2020-07-16 ·

A flexible shock-absorbing parts, suitable for use in a flexible damping device which connects and absorbs torque from two different mechanical shafts, so that they are coaxial during transmission. The flexible shock-absorbing parts is arranged between the two machines and closely attached to them; the flexible shock-absorbing parts are arranged radially on the first plane. The first plane is composed of the X-axis and the Y-axis in the Cartesian coordinate system. When the flexible shock-absorbing parts are installed in the vehicle, it allows the vehicle to absorb larger instantaneous external forces received by the wheels when the vehicle is travelling so that the impact of these external forces on the structure of the motor and the second gear inside the gear box can be reduced, thereby achieving protection for them.

Torque disc

A torque disc comprising a fixing surface and at least one restraining element. The fixing surface defines an area of the torque disc for attachment to a fastener in use, and the at least one restraining element extends from the fixing surface so as to engage in use with at least one portion of the fastener to restrain rotational movement of the fastener during attachment to or detachment from the torque disc.
