The guard leg includes a vertical wall parallel to a central axis of the guard body, an upper wall, a bottom wall, a left-side wall, and a right-side wall which project perpendicularly outwardly from the vertical wall. The vertical wall, the upper wall, the bottom wall, the left-side wall, and the right-side wall are made of a single plate material.
SEALING SYSTEM FOR CONSTANT-VELOCITY JOINT
A constant-velocity joint includes an outer race, inner race, end cap, and seal. The outer race defines a cavity, an opening to the cavity, and a through hole configured to receive a fastener. The inner race is disposed within the cavity and is rotatably connected to the outer race via a plurality of ball bearings. The end cap is secured to the outer race and covers the opening. The seal is disposed between the outer race and the end cap. The seal defines a channel that is in fluid communication with the cavity and the through hole. The channel is configured to vent air between the cavity and through hole.
Mechanical coupling group
A mechanical coupling group of two devices, includes coupling body having a hollow cylindrical central portion and a first flange destined to couple with a first device, and a second flange destined to couple with a second device, threaded means being provided with a broadened head for fixing each of the two flanges to the respective device, in which the second flange comprises at least three first equidistant recesses located on a circumference thereof, and having a larger diameter than a diameter of the broadened head, a cylindrical tract branching from each recess having a diameter that is identical to a diameter of the circumference on which the threaded means lie, less one half of the diameter thereof, and a second recess facing towards the first recess and having a smaller diameter than the broadened head of the threaded means.
Coupling guard for a rotating member
A coupling guard for a rotor, which includes a housing for enclosing the rotor in an inner space of the housing, the housing extending longitudinally along a length of the rotor; a ventilation system for creating a flow of gas in the inner space from a gas inlet to a gas outlet that exhausts outside. The gas inlet includes a pipe extending along a pipe longitudinal axis from outside to inside the housing. The pipe includes a first opening located outside the housing and a second opening located inside the housing in the inner space. The pipe has the second opening close to the rotor when the housing encloses the latter. The second opening has a curved edge wherein a projection of the curved edge onto a plane extending parallel to the longitudinal axis of the pipe and parallel to the axis of longitudinal extension is a segment of curve.
CONSTANT VELOCITY UNIVERSAL JOINT
A constant velocity universal joint includes an outer joint member having an opening portion at one end thereof, and an inner joint member configured to transmit torque while allowing angular displacement with respect to the outer joint member through balls. End portions of a boot closing the opening portion of the outer joint member are fastened and fixed to a mounting part of the outer joint member and a mounting part of a shaft extending from the inner joint member. At a part of an outer peripheral surface of the shaft where at least an inner peripheral surface of the boot contacts when the shaft takes an operating angle with respect to the outer joint member, a sliding bearing is arranged to reduce abrasion due to friction caused by relative movement between the outer peripheral surface of the shaft and the inner peripheral surface of the boot.
Grease retention assembly for a joint of a vehicle drive shaft
A grease-retention assembly for a drive shaft assembly with a tubular shaft connected to a joint includes an outer race and a cap for grease retention and venting arranged in an inside diameter section of the outer race. The cap includes an outer annular rim with an annular indentation. The outer race includes a radial abutment shoulder extending radially inward and defining an axial end position of the rim of the cap, and a radial annular rib extending from the inside diameter section. The rib partially fills the annular indentation of the rim when the cap is in the axial end position. The cap further includes a central portion with a hollow air cavity extending across the cap between two radially extending walls, an axial hole through one of the two radially extending walls, and a radial annular groove communicating with the air cavity.
Cover for a universal joint of a driveshaft
A cover for a universal joint of a driveshaft comprises a first section, a second section, at least two cover fasteners, and at least one driveshaft fastener. At least a first cover fastener of the at least two cover fasteners is configured to connect a first section first edge to a second section first edge. At least a second cover fastener of the at least two cover fasteners is configured to connect a first section second edge to a second section second edge. The at least one driveshaft fastener is configured to connect the cover to the driveshaft or a yoke thereof without any portion of the cover contacting the universal joint.
Adaptor
An adaptor is disclosed for connecting a generator to a prime mover. The adaptor comprises two separable parts. By providing an adaptor comprising two separable parts, it may be possible for one part to be removed in order to allow access to moving parts which would otherwise be inaccessible. This may simplify the process of servicing moving parts such as a coupling or bearings, without requiring the generator and the prime mover to be moved apart. A coupling with a radially removable elastomeric component is also disclosed.
SLIP YOKE ASSEMBLY AND METHOD
A slip yoke assembly includes a cylindrical portion that extends along an axis and has a first end. An inner surface of the cylindrical portion defines a cavity along the axis. The inner surface defines a plurality of inner teeth that extend axially. The first end defines a counterbore about the cavity. The counterbore is defined by a first wall that extends at a transverse angle relative to the axis. A second wall extends substantially axially from the first wall. A plug is positioned in the counterbore and spans across the cavity in axial alignment with the second wall of the counterbore for engaging the second wall and providing primary sealing of the cavity. An annular lip seal is positioned in the counterbore against the first wall and is positioned axially between the first wall and the plug for providing supplementary sealing of the cavity.
