CLUTCH FOR CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION
A continuously variable transmission includes a first shaft driveably connected to a power-plant and having a first pair of sheave disks, and a second shaft having a second pair of sheave disks. A tension member is connected to the first and second pairs of disks such that power is transmittable between the first and second shafts. A third shaft is selectively driveably connected to the second shaft via a clutch. The clutch includes an inner race fixed to one of the second and third shafts, and an outer race fixed to a gear and having an inner surface circumscribing the inner race. At least one pawl is biased to couple the races in a fixed relationship for common rotation. The clutch further includes an electric coil and an armature configured to engage the pawl to decouple the races in response to current being supplied to the electric coil.
WEDGE CLUTCH ASSEMBLY
A wedge clutch assembly for transferring torque from an engine to an output shaft, comprising a clutch carrier comprising an axial friction surface and a radially inwardly facing surface, a hub comprising a first radially outwardly facing surface having grooves positioned circumferentially thereon and detents positioned within the grooves, a wedge plate comprising an axial friction surface, a second radially outwardly facing surface, and a second radially inwardly facing surface having recesses, a pressure plate concentrically arranged within the first radially inwardly facing surface and displaceable such that in an engaged mode, an axial force is applied to the pressure plate, in a first axial direction, to engage the wedge plate with the clutch carrier such that torque is transferred from the engine to the output shaft, and in a disengaged mode, the wedge plate is independently rotatable from the clutch carrier.

DRIVING FORCE TRANSMISSION DEVICE
When relative positions of cages are changed from first positions to second positions, rollers are moved toward each other against an elastic biasing force of an elastic member such that an off state is achieved in which the rollers are disengaged from a cam surface or an inner peripheral surface portion to have a clearance therefrom. When the relative positions of the cages are changed from the second positions to the first positions, the rollers are moved away from each other by the elastic biasing force such that an on state is achieved in which one of the rollers on a downstream side engages with the cam surface or the inner peripheral surface portion without any clearance while the other of the rollers on an upstream side has a clearance from the cam surface or the inner peripheral surface portion.
Selectable one-way clutch with improved electromagnetic module
A controllable one-way clutch assembly having an electromagnetic actuator module equipped with an energizeable coil assembly, a strut moveable in response to energization of the coil assembly from a released position to a locked position, and a latching mechanism operable to releaseably hold the strut in the released position when the coil assembly is not energized.
ACTUATOR WITH DECLUTCHABLE OUTPUT LEVER
A flight control actuator for actuating an aircraft flight control system is provided. The flight control actuator comprises a gearbox, an output shaft attached to the gearbox and an output lever provided on the output shaft. The output lever is declutchable from the output shaft.
Clutch for continuously variable transmission and method of operating clutch
A vehicle including a continuously variable transmission including a gear selectively locked to an output shaft via a clutch actuated by an electric coil. The vehicle also includes a controller configured to, in response to wheel hop being detected, energize the coil to disengage the clutch allowing the gear and the output shaft to rotate independently of each other.
Electro-magnetic and centrifugal clutch
A clutch includes a first race, a second race, a pawl, a post, and a shoe. The second race defines a cam surface. The pawl is supported in the first race to pivot between an engaged position and a disengaged position such that contact between the cam surface and the pawl in the engaged position prevents relative rotation between the first and second races in at least one direction. The post is supported in the first race to slide between a first and a second position such that in the first position the post forces the pawl into the disengaged position. The shoe is configured to pivot with respect to the first race in response to a magnetic field to slide the post into the second position.
Latching spring disconnect clutch
A disconnect clutch includes a wedge carrier, a wedge plate, an inner hub and a latching diaphragm spring. The wedge carrier has a pair of inwardly facing tapered rings. The wedge plate has a pair of outwardly facing tapered ring portions for mating engagement with the wedge carrier inwardly facing tapered rings, a plurality of inner ramp portions with respective tapered inner surfaces, and a radially flexible middle portion connecting the outwardly tapered ring portions and plurality of inner ramp portions. The inner hub has a plurality of outer ramp portions with tapered outer surfaces for engagement with the plurality of wedge plate ramp portion tapered inner surfaces. The latching diaphragm spring is for displacing the inner hub relative to the wedge carrier to radially expand the wedge plate.
