A selectable one-way clutch comprises inside clutch elements and outside clutch elements. The inside clutch elements include: an inside pocket plate where inside pawl members are held; an inside notch plate where inside recesses to engage with the inside pawl members are formed; and an inside selector plate disposed between the inside pocket plate and the inside notch plate. The outside clutch elements include: an outside pocket plate where outside pawl members are formed; an outside notch plate where outside recesses to engage with the outside pawl members are formed; and an outside selector plate disposed between the outside pocket plate and the outside notch plate. The inside clutch elements and the outside clutch elements are disposed concentrically using one axial line as a center.

GEARBOX IMPROVEMENTS

Some embodiments are directed to a gearbox including first and second rotational members, the first rotational member having a shaft portion extending away from the gearbox, the first rotational member carrying one or more projections, the second rotational member carrying one or more complementary projections, the projections carried by the first rotational member being configured to be drivingly engaged with the complementary projections carried by the second rotational member to transmit torque in a first torque connection but not in a torque connection that is opposed to the first torque connection. The gearbox further includes a one way clutch adapted such that the first and second rotational members can be drivingly engaged to transmit torque in a second torque connection, wherein the second torque connection is opposed to the first torque connection.

COUPLING ASSEMBLY HAVING AN OVERRUN MODE AND CHANNELED LOCKING MEMBER FOR USE THEREIN
20170227072 · 2017-08-10 ·

A coupling assembly having an overrun mode and a channeled locking member are provided. The locking member has a ramped, open channel extending through a nose and main body of the locking member to an upper face of the main body. The locking member is movable between first and second positions. The first position is a coupling position and the second position is an uncoupling position. Pressurized fluid directed to a bottom of the channel urges the locking member towards the second position upon rotation of a first member of the assembly in a first direction relative to a second member of the assembly above a predetermined RPM to prevent abutting engagement of the locking member with a shoulder of the first member in the overrun mode.

SELECTABLE ONE-WAY CLUTCH

A selectable one-way clutch includes: a pocket plate including a plurality of housing concave portions; a notch plate including a plurality of engaging concave portions; plate-like engaging pieces, each being housed in each of the housing concave portions; elastic members, each being provided between a bottom portion of a corresponding housing concave portion of the housing concave portions and a corresponding engaging piece of the engaging pieces; and a selector plate provided between the pocket plate and the notch plate in a rotation axis direction of the notch plate. The bottom portion of the housing concave portion includes: a first bottom surface; and a second bottom surface formed at a position deeper than the first bottom surface.

SELECTABLE ONE-WAY CLUTCH

A selectable one-way clutch includes: a shaft; an actuator configured to cause the shaft to perform a rectilinear motion in a shaft direction; and an arm including an operation portion configured to receive force in the shaft direction from the shaft. The shaft includes a first flange and a second flange. An engaged state and a released state the selectable one-way clutch are switched by an operation of the arm by the rectilinear motion of the shaft, in an assembled state of the shaft and the arm in which the operation portion is arranged between the first flange and the second flange. The first flange is provided with a cut portion in an outer peripheral edge of the first shaft. The shaft has a structure in which the first flange does not face the operation portion in the shaft direction by the cut portion of the first flange.

Selectable one-way clutch

A selectable one-way clutch adapted to prevent an undesirable engagement is provided. The selectable one-way clutch comprises a drag increasing device that increases a drag of oil acting between the pocket plate and the selector plate against a force rotating the selector plate in a direction to bring the selectable one-way clutch into the engagement mode.

SELECTABLE ONE WAY CLUTCH LOADED MEMBER RELEASE

A selectable one way clutch includes a reverse strut pocket plate having a first plurality of struts or pawls, a reverse notch and forward strut pocket plate having a second plurality of struts or pawls, a selector plate disposed between the plates controlled by a selector plate actuator and a forward notch plate. The reverse notch and forward strut pocket plate includes a plurality of ratchet teeth disposed about its periphery which cooperate with a pin or pushrod of a linear actuator. When the reverse notch plate and forward strut pocket plate is stationary but the one way clutch is still carrying torque, the linear actuator may be actuated to rotate the reverse notch plate and forward strut pocket plate to unlock or release the torque carrying struts which would otherwise remain in their locked torque transmitting positions until all or substantially all torque across the clutch was removed.

Provided is an automatic transmission with which a large impact is hardly applied to the component of the switching mechanism or the switching control circuit when the drive source is re-driven. When a drive source ENG is determined to be in the stopped state, if the position of a slider HC1 does not correspond to the position the control part

ECU instructed before the drive source ENG is determined to be in the stopped state, the control part ECU of the automatic transmission TM transmits a signal for switching a two-way clutch TW to a state corresponding to the state of a slider HC1.

In an automatic transmission, the control part controls the engaging mechanisms and recognizes the rotational speed of a drive source and a stop request for the drive source. The automatic transmission changes the rotational speed of the input member to transmission gear ratios by the planetary gear mechanism and the engaging mechanisms so as to freely output the rotation from the output member. The engaging mechanisms include a switching mechanism switchable between a fixed state and a reverse rotation preventing state in which a normal rotation of a corresponding element among the elements of the planetary gear mechanism is allowed and a reverse rotation thereof is prevented. The control part switches the switching mechanism in a state in which the stop request for the drive source is not recognized and the rotational speed of the drive source is equal to or greater than a predetermined value.

Provided is an automatic transmission with which a switching mechanism thereof is hardly damaged even if the hydraulic pressure supplied to a hydraulic pressure control circuit temporarily changes. A control part ECU of the automatic transmission TM switches the first brake B1 to the reverse rotation preventing state when a signal indicating that the slider is at a position corresponding to the reverse rotation preventing state is received while the control unit ECU recognized that it has switched the first brake B1 to the fixed state.
