A digital display type similar to a tachometer or fuel gauge for an automobile for numerically displaying the optimal shift point. The will serve several purposes. This will allow less wear and tear on the clutch, elongate the life of the clutch, prevent it from burning out as quickly it would reducing overall cost in the long run and providing a smoother, safer ride.

Linked Dual Action Motorcycle Hydraulic Clutch Actuator
Disclosed is a motorcycle clutch actuator, with hydraulically linked foot clutch lever and hand clutch lever, to be installed on motorcycles made with a hand activated gear selection lever or on motorcycles to be converted from a conventional configuration of hand activated clutch and foot activated gear selection lever, to a configuration of foot activated clutch and hand activated gear selection lever, providing optimal clutch control with either a foot clutch lever or a hand clutch lever, by means of innovative hydraulic and mechanical control linkage, releasing the rider's foot from the foot clutch lever, while holding the clutch in the disengaged position with a hand clutch lever, as the motorcycle is running while in gear, thereby enabling the rider to balance the motorcycle with both feet while modulating the clutch with the hand clutch lever.
CONTROL SYSTEM FOR MANUAL TRANSMISSIONS
A control system (44) for a clutch (18) of a manual transmission (16) in a vehicle (10) having an ECU (22), an engine (14), a pedal (26) having a sensor (42), a slave (34) in fluid communication with a master (36); and at least one input (24). The control system (44) includes a pump (50), a valve (52) in fluid communication with the slave (34) and pump (50), and a controller (46) responsive to the ECU (22) and operable in a plurality of modes for selectively cooperating with the pedal (26) to actuate the slave (34) and modulate the clutch (18) under predetermined engine (14) and vehicle (10) operating conditions. The controller (46) is movable between modes in response to signals from the ECU (22) representing predetermined changes in one or more of: engine speed, engine load, vehicle speed, transmission gear, pedal position, or input state.

A method for reducing baulking of a dual clutch transmission (DCT) for a vehicle includes a first engaging step engaging an odd-stage clutch and an even-stage clutch of a DCT in a case of an ignition-on state. An ascertaining step ascertains a range positioned by a shift lever when an engine is cranked after the first engaging step. A second engaging step engages shift gears respectively, after disengaging at least one of the odd-stage clutch and the even-stage clutch depending on the ascertained range position of the shift lever.

An apparatus for controlling engagement of a clutch comprises at least one distance sensor adapted to provide a signal proportional to the movement of a gear selector in a gearbox along a path for selecting one gear ratio, a clutch engagement control unit adapted to gradually engage the clutch connected to the gearbox in response to the signal of the distance sensor and a clutch signal control unit adapted to receive the signal from the at least one distance sensor and to provide a corresponding control signal to the clutch engagement control unit. A method for controlling the engagement of a clutch comprises receiving a signal proportional to distance of a gear selection lever from the Neutral zone of a gearbox along at least one gear selection path of the gear selection lever and providing a control signal to a clutch control unit to control the engagement of said clutch in response to said signal proportional to the distance of the gear selection lever from the Neutral zone.
