Brake drum and method for producing such a brake drum
A brake drum for a vehicle includes a friction ring and a drum body. The friction ring has grooves arranged on a radial outer surface along a circumference, and a coating formed on the grooves. The drum body is cast onto the radial outer surface of the friction ring so that the grooves are filled with a material of the drum body. The grooves include first grooves and second grooves. A first axial segment is formed at the friction ring in which the first grooves are introduced so that the first grooves are inclined relative to a first axial end of the friction ring. A second axial segment is formed at the friction ring in which the second grooves are introduced so that the second grooves are inclined in a direction which is opposite to that of the first axial segment. Each of the grooves have undercuts.
Wheel sensors within vehicular brake assemblies
A drum braking system having a spindle and backing plate affixed thereto. The system includes a drum rotating on the spindle. The drum has an inside surface with integral notches that are machined or cast into the drum. When the brakes are applied, brake shoes are actuated to contact the inside surface to create drag between the drum and the spindle. A sensor is fixed with respect to the spindle or backing plate that detects the notches when the drum rotates about the spindle. A portion of the inside surface with the integral notches is shared with the brake shoes so that applying the brakes prevents buildup that could contact the sensor. The sensor is positioned radially to reduce the effect of drum endplay on detecting of the notches.

Splined Drum and Electric Motor Engagement Assembly
The rotor of an electric motor unit has a web portion partially enclosing the remainder of the unit and terminating in a circumferentially extending rim. The brake drum defines an engagement surface for drum brake linings, and has an outboard end defining a flange securable to the wheel hub. The brake drum also includes an open inboard end, partly covered over by a dust guard, and a circumferential wall extending between the outboard and inboard ends and surrounding the engagement surface. By way of keys and slots or recesses, a reinforcing ring interlocks the circumferentially extending rim of the web portion and the circumferential brake drum wall. The reinforcing ring is secured to the circumferentially extending rim and to the wall of the brake drum at a location disposed axially between the rim of the web portion and the brake drum lining engagement surface.
Brake Drum for a Vehicle Drum Brake
A brake drum for a drum brake, in particular of a motor vehicle, includes a cylindrical jacket and a support pot which axially adjoins the jacket and which has a hub ring portion to be secured to a wheel hub. The monolithic brake drum is formed at least in part of a fiber-reinforced plastic.

Drum brake and brake shoe
A drum brake includes a brake drum with an attaching region for arranging the brake drum on a vehicle part, such as a wheel hub, and a shell region with a first contact face, and a friction lining with a second contact face which faces toward the shell region, the first and second contact face being curved along or in a radial plane.

MULTI-PART BRAKE DRUM
A brake drum for utility vehicles configured to mount rotatably about an axis of rotation and including a friction section and a connection section, wherein the friction section includes a friction surface and a plurality of transmission structures, wherein the connection section comprises at least one mounting surface and a plurality of transfer structures, wherein the transfer structures engage positively and/or nonpositively in the respective complementary transmission structures so that a torque about the axis of rotation can be transmitted positively, and wherein the mounting surface serves to fix the brake drum indirectly or directly to a hub.
