A brake device (102), in particular a utility vehicle disc brake, has a brake disc (106), at least one brake pad (104, 104′), a transmission member (114) coupled to the brake pad (104, 104′) for pressing the brake pad (104, 104′) against the brake disc (106), a drive for generating a drive variable, a non-linear mechanism (110) operatively connected to the drive and the transmission member (114) for transmission of the drive variable to the transmission member (114), and an adjusting unit (120) for adjusting a clearance (108) between the transmission member (114) and the brake disc (106). The device includes a brake pad wear sensor for detecting the degree of wear of the brake pad (104, 104′) and a control unit, with a signal-carrying connection to the sensor to vary the clearance (108) as a function of the wear of the brake pad (104, 104′) determined by the sensor.

Brake caliper positional correction device

An apparatus for a vehicle is provided that has a spindle sleeve (12) with a spindle sleeve inner surface axis (14) that is coaxial with the axis of an axle (16). The spindle sleeve (12) has a spindle sleeve outer surface axis (20) that is oriented at an angle to the axis of the axle. A hub (28) is present that has a hub axis (30) that is coaxial with the spindle sleeve outer surface axis (20). A rotor (32) is coaxial with the hub axis (30) and brake calipers (34) are carried by the axle. A brake caliper positional correction device (36) is present and is carried by the axle (16) and has a correction surface (38) that carries the brake calipers (34). The correction surface (38) orients the brake calipers (34) such that the brake calipers (34) are properly positioned with respect to the rotor (32).

Disc brake for a utility vehicle and brake pad for a disc brake

A disc brake for a utility vehicle includes a brake caliper which engages over a vehicle-side brake disc, which is connected to a stationary brake carrier, and in which two brake pads are arranged which bear against the brake disc on both sides during a braking operation, having in each case one lining carrier plate and one friction lining which is fastened thereto, and of which at least one brake application-side brake pad is positioned in a pad shaft of the brake carrier, which pad shaft is delimited by two brake carrier horns. The lining carrier plate bears against stops of the brake carrier in a manner which is spring-loaded radially in the direction of a mounting opening of the brake caliper. The disc brake is configured in such a way that the brake pad is held on the brake caliper in a radially sprung manner.

Assembly of at least two brake pads and at least one spring

An assembly has two pads having a support plate and a friction material coating, each pad being accommodated in a pocket of a caliper and positionable on a side of a brake disc. At least one spring applies an elastic bias on the pads so as to elastically bias the pads away from the brake disc. The support plate has a plate coupling portion having an inner lower edge, facing the brake disc in a radially inward direction or towards the rotation axis, an inner upper edge, facing the brake disc in a radially outward direction or opposite to the rotation axis, the inner upper edge continuing on a direct upper surface according to the axial direction (A-A), forming an upper spring-coupling plate portion edge. The spring is always in contact exclusively with the inner lower edge and the upper spring-coupling plate portion edge.

Anti reverse ratchet mechanism for a grounded slack

A ratchet device for providing anti-reverse locking for a grounded slack comprises a pinwheel having flexible angled spokes circumferentially protruding therefrom and a pinion ring into which the pinwheel fits includes a plurality of angled teeth with which the angled spokes mate. The spokes flex and slide over the pinion ring teeth when the ratchet is advanced in a forward direction, and lock against the teeth when the ratchet is not being advanced.
