The invention relates to an actuating device for an internal shoe brake, including an automatic adjusting device with an adjusting lever which includes a guide track in the form of a guiding slot with two opposing track surfaces which cooperate with opposing sides of a housing-fixed guide element in order to convert a displacement of the adjusting lever relative to the housing-fixed guide element into pivoting movements of the adjusting lever.

Expansion device having a readjustment unit for a drum brake

The proposal is for an improved expansion device for a drum brake having an integrated readjustment unit having a readjusting screw which can be locked therein by a spring-loaded latching unit which, for a reliable readjustment function with a reduced level of force, provides for the latching unit to allow a defined idle rotation of the readjusting screw, which is defined structurally by a first stop acting in a first direction of revolution and a second stop acting in the opposite direction of revolution.

Clip for use in a disc brake assembly and disc brake assembly including such a clip

This invention relates to a brake clip for use with a disc brake assembly. The brake clip includes a U-shaped section having a base leg with opposing first and second legs extending from the base leg. An abutment leg extends from at least one of the first and second legs of the U-shaped section. An extension leg extends from the abutment leg. The abutment leg is in contact with an anchor bracket of the disc brake assembly and the extension leg is in contact with a brake pad of the disc brake assembly when the brake clip is disposed therebetween.

An assembly that includes a parking brake system including two or more spindle/nut devices. The two or more spindle/nut devices include a high efficiency device and a low efficiency device. The high efficiency device is in communication with a first end of a brake pad, and the low efficiency device in communication with a second end of the brake pad. The high efficiency device moves the first end of the brake pad against a braking surface, and the low efficiency device moves the second end of the brake pad against the braking surface. After one or both of the ends of the brake pad are moved against the braking surface and a clamping force is created, the low efficiency device locks and prevents movement of the high efficiency device so that the clamping force is maintained.

Radial Disc Brake for a Utility Vehicle

A disc brake for a utility vehicle includes an application device, which is positioned in a receiving space of a brake caliper having a caliper housing and a lever dome arranged thereon. The application device has a pivotable brake lever, which is provided with at least one eccentric portion and a lever arm which adjoins the latter, the lever extending approximately parallel to the axis of rotation of the brake disc and projecting into the lever dome. Two brake plungers are mounted axially adjustably in a bridge and, during braking, lie against a brake pad. A readjustment device compensates for a wear-induced change in an air gap. A synchronizing device is connected functionally to the brake plungers and has a traction mechanism drive. The traction mechanism drive is arranged outside the lever dome, wherein strands of the traction mechanism drive are guided around a partial region of the lever dome.
