Fluid expansion tank

An expansion tank includes a tank body mounted inside a housing forming a sump, where the tank body defines an internal expansion volume. A fluid inlet tube on the tank body has an upper end open to the sump and a lower end open to the internal expansion volume. A single 2-way check valve is located at the lower end of the tube, and fluid enters the expansion volume when the pressure in the sump exceeds the pressure in the expansion volume by a first predetermined amount, and fluid exits the expansion volume to the sump when the pressure in the expansion volume exceeds the pressure in the sump by a second predetermined amount. The check valve may be a combination duckbill valve and umbrella valve. The tank body may include a cover on which the inlet tube is formed.

Disc brake wear adjuster

A disc brake, a wear adjuster for a disc brake and a method for operating a disc brake are provided. The wear adjuster includes a pawl biased by a spring against, and actuated by, a rotary lever, a shaft with the ratchet wheel arranged to be rotated by the pawl when the rotary lever rotates in a brake release direction, and a tappet wheel threaded on a brake application tappet supported on a movable bridge in the disc brake caliper. During brake release the pawl rotates the ratchet wheel and the shaft. The shaft and the tappet wheel have gearing which rotates the tappet wheel with the shaft. Due to the threaded engagement of the tappet wheel and the non-rotating tappet, the rotating tappet wheel causes the tappet to advance relative to the bridge to compensate for brake pad wear.

Brake system for a vehicle

The invention relates to a brake system for a vehicle, comprising a cylinder (3), a piston (4) having a closed end (4b) and an open end (4a) and being movably arranged within the cylinder (3), and a further part protruding through the open end (4a) into a cavity of the piston (4), the further part comprising a shaft (6) arranged along a longitudinal axis (5) of the cylinder (3) and a head having a larger diameter than the shaft (6), wherein a resetter for the piston (4) is arranged within the cavity of the piston (4) to allow for a transmission of forces between the head of the further part and the resetter in a direction of the longitudinal axis (5). At least a part of the resetter is elastic, wherein the resetter is in contact with the inner surface of the piston (4) so that the resetter can support a reverse movement of the piston (4) when a braking pressure is released.

Electric drum brake system having a rationalized electric parking brake actuator

A novel, particularly rationally designed, modular parking brake actuator for an electric drum brake system. An axle A1 from the motor, including a screw gear pinion coupled in a rotationally fixed manner, and an axle of the spindle arrangement, including a screw gear which is coupled in a rotationally fixed manner to the drive nut, define under a deflection of 90 a single wheel gearbox stage of the parking brake actuator.

CAM LOCKING HANDLE ASSEMBLY FOR MANUAL PARK RELEASE
20200122701 · 2020-04-23 ·

A park release assembly including a package housing with a depth defining base and a cover and a cam component supported in a limited pivotal fashion within the housing. The cam component includes upper and lower portions, each further having an arcuate extending guide surface. A release cable extends in a first direction within the housing and engages the arcuate surface of the lower cam portion. An engagement cable extends in a second crosswise direction relative to the release cable and engages the arcuate surface of the upper cam portion. A pull handle is secured to an end of the engagement cable and, upon outwardly displacing the pull handle, causes concurrent rotation of the cam component in a counter biasing direction in order to linearly displace the release cable in an extending direction in order to actuate a remote lever to a vehicle Park release condition.

Mechanically released brake for a mowing machine

A brake apparatus for restricting rotation of a rotatable member of a mowing machine, thereby controlling rotation of a wheel of the mowing machine, includes a brake member fixable on the rotatable member, and a gripping member for engaging and disengaging the brake member for restricting or permitting rotation of the rotatable member. A thrust link is coupled to the gripping member such that movement of the thrust link causes the gripping member to engage or disengage a radially outer surface of the brake member. For example, the gripping member may be biasedly engaged with at least a partial circumferential extent of the brake member such that actuation of the thrust link causes disengagement of the gripping member from the brake member.

Control arrangement for a transmission brake with a quick exhaust valve

An assembly (12) for actuating a transmission brake (1) that has a transmission brake cylinder (7), at least one control valve (16, 17) for controlling pressurizing and/or exhausting of the transmission brake cylinder (7), and at least one pressure line (14) via which the at least one control valve (16, 17) is connected to the transmission brake cylinder (7) to supply a pressure medium (10) to and discharge the pressure medium (10) from a pressure chamber (9) of the transmission brake cylinder (7). The assembly (12) includes a quick-exhaust valve (15), which is arranged in the pressure line (14) between the transmission brake cylinder (7), and the at least one control valve (16, 17).

Stroller
