Hydraulic rotor brake with additional fire barrier
New methods and devices are described that are aimed at preventing the outbreak of fire in a hydraulic rotor brake. These methods and devices can be used in the rotor brake of a helicopter and comprise a first and second seal, with a drain groove positioned in between these two seals to drain leaked fluid away from the hot parts of the brake. In the brakes described, the second seal is positioned closer to the heat sink of the brake than the first seal. The drain groove is also connected via a channel or channels to a drain outlet or outlets.
BRAKE SYSTEM
A brake system that includes a brake piston and a spindle. The brake piston includes a piston pocket defined in the brake piston. The piston pocket includes a threaded portion. The spindle includes a threaded portion. The threaded portion of the spindle is adapted to threadably engage the threaded portion of the piston pocket.
DISC BRAKE AND PISTON BOOT
A piston boot has an annular fixing part that is formed on one end side of a stretchable part and abuts against an inner peripheral side of the cylinder. An outer peripheral surface of the annular fixing part is provided with a first region that abuts against an inner peripheral surface of the cylinder and a second region that is disposed closer to a bottom side of the cylinder than the first region in a piston axial direction. The outer diameter of the first region is larger than the inner diameter of the region of the inner peripheral surface of the cylinder that faces the second region.
HYDRAULIC CALIPER DISC BRAKE WITH SPHERICAL-FACED WASHERS
A hydraulic caliper disc brake includes an opposing pair of pistons adapted to act on an opposing pair of washers adapted to act on an opposing pair of stator assemblies, each of the pistons comprising a spherical piston face, each of the washers comprising a spherical washer face abutting a respective one of the spherical piston faces, and a straight washer face opposite the spherical washer face and abutting a respective one of the stator assemblies.
Braking device
This braking device comprises a seal (1) having a first sealing part (2) made of a first material and a second sealing part (4) made of a second material different than the first material. In addition, the first material comprises PTFE, the second material comprises EPDM, and the first sealing part (2) and the second sealing part (4) are adhesively bonded together.
SEAL RING AND SEALING STRUCTURE
A seal ring is an annular seal ring which is configured to be interposed between first and second members, and seals a gap between the first and second members. The second member is inserted into the first member, and reciprocates in its axial direction with respect to the first member. The seal ring includes an annular base part, an annular innermost end part, and a widening protrusion part. The annular base part has a radially exterior end to contact the first member. The annular innermost end part is integrally formed with a radially interior end of the base part to contact the second member. The widening protrusion part is integrally formed with the innermost end part, and protrudes with respect to the base part in the axial direction of the second member.
Redundant seal for wind turbine hydraulic brakes
A caliper brake featuring a hydraulic piston assembly includes a housing, a movable piston within a chamber of the housing, a first port providing a first fluid pathway into the chamber, and a redundant seal assembly. The redundant seal assembly may include a first pressure seal disposed about a first interior circumference of the chamber disposed above the first port, a second pressure seal disposed about a second interior circumference of the chamber disposed above the first pressure seal, and a second port disposed between the first pressure seal and the second pressure seal, the second port providing a second fluid pathway from inside of the chamber to outside of the chamber, and the second port establishing a bleed-off for fluid traversing above the first pressure seal such that the second pressure seal experiences a lower fluid pressure than the first pressure seal during normal operation of the caliper brake.
Braking apparatus
A braking apparatus may include: a torque plate unit; a piston unit coupled to a shoe liner and configured to be movable inside the torque plate unit; and a dust boot including a boot body enclosing the piston unit and installed between the torque plate unit and the piston unit, and a shape retainer having an annular shape and inserted into one end of the boot body.
Disc brake
A disc brake and an adjuster system for a disc brake. The adjuster system may include a piston, a chamber, and a wear adjustment mechanism. The wear adjustment mechanism may be located within the chamber. The chamber may contain lubricant for lubrication of at least part of the wear adjustment mechanism.
