The housing includes a mount configured to pivotally couple the housing to the lift assembly of the scissor lift. The mount is offset from the second end of the housing along the axis of extension such that the mount is positioned between the first end and the second end of the housing.

ACTUATOR ACTIVATED BY TRANSVERSAL ACCELERATION
20230279930 · 2023-09-07 · ·

An actuator primarily activated by transversal acceleration arising from rotational acceleration of a rotatable object is presented. The object is rotatable in a plane of rotation (P) about an object pivot point in the plane of rotation (P). The actuator comprises at least two bodies adapted to be rotatably, in or parallel to the plane of rotation (P), coupled to the object at a body pivot point of each body. The body pivot point and/or the body is arranged such that a mass distribution of the body is nonuniform about the body pivot point. Due to said nonuniform mass distribution about the body pivot point, the actuator is configured to transition to an activated state, in response to rotational acceleration of the object, by said at least two bodies rotating about their respective body pivot points in a direction opposite to a direction of said rotational acceleration of the object.

Described herein is a system, method of use and Self Retracting Lifeline (SRL) apparatus using a system that governs a dynamic response between members causing a halt in relative motion between the members. Magnetic interactions, eddy current drag forces and centrifugal and/or inertial forces may provide various mechanisms of governing movement.

External Drum Brake Anti-Falling Device

An external drum brake anti-falling device includes a carrier having an accommodating chamber and a main shaft crossingly arranged in the accommodating chamber for supporting a rotating drum to autorotate, wherein the rotating drum has a life belt coiled thereon, a brake unit arranged at an end thereof, and a drum brake module, which includes a base, mounted in the accommodating chamber, and a passive ring, mounted on the base. The base has a through hole, axially penetratingly provided thereon, so as to define a first ring surface disposed in a concentric circle manner with the main shaft. An outer diameter of the passive ring defines a second ring surface opposite to and closely fitting to the first ring surface and concentrically defines internally toothed ratchet teeth provided thereon for sequentially generating maximum static friction force and kinetic friction force between the first ring surface and the second ring surface when the life belt drives the brake unit to be engaged with the ratchet teeth, thereby effectively buffering the rotating drum and the life belt.

ROTATIONAL FRICTION BRAKE ACTUATED AND REGULATED BY ANGULAR ACCELERATION AND A FISHING REEL COMPRISING THE SAME

A rotational friction brake actuated and regulated by the rate of change of the angular speed is disclosed. The rotational friction brake includes a first body and a second body rotationally attached to the first body. The second body is arranged to rotate around a rotational center axis of the second body. An actuator arrangement is configured to move a second friction surface into frictional engagement with a first friction surface. The actuator arrangement includes an actuator arm pivotably attached to the second body in a pivot point that is eccentrically offset to the rotational center axis. The actuator arrangement has a radius of gyration (RG) longer than a distance from the pivot point to the rotational center axis. The actuator arrangement has an internal flexibility which allows its shape to depend on centrifugal forces. A fishing reel comprising such a rotational friction brake is also disclosed.
