A lift vehicle comprises a base, a battery arranged within the base, a drive motor powered by the battery and configured to drive a wheel, a scissor lift including a first end coupled to the base and being movable between an extended position and a retracted position, a work platform supported by a second end of the retractable lift, and a linear actuator having a lift motor. The lift motor is powered by the battery, and the linear actuator is coupled to the retractable lift so that rotation of the rotor moves the retractable lift between the extended position and the retracted position. The lift vehicle further includes an electromagnetic brake and a centrifugal brake coupled to the lift motor.

The invention relates to a control mechanism (105) configured to equip a rail system and including a casing (106) from which a control rod (109) projects, configured to be mechanically and securely connected to a control cable (107) actuatable at a distance from or in proximity to the casing, a plate (115) mechanically connected to the casing and from which the control rod projects, and a locking/unlocking device (135) positioned in a recess (124) provided in the plate and having a stable position, the control mechanism being configured so that, when the control cable is mechanically connected to the control rod, the locking/unlocking device is elastically moved away from its stable position to allow the partial introduction of the control cable in the plate as far as a position in which the control cable is mechanically and securely connected to the control rod.

A caster wheel brake system for carts and other wheeled articles is operable to secure caster wheels against rolling rotation along their horizontal rotation axes. The system includes a pivotable parking brake lever, an actuator arm, and a torque shaft extending between the brake lever and actuator arm. The brake lever includes a distal end portion for selectively engaging a caster wheel, a proximal end portion opposite the distal end portion, and a pivot coupling, the latter being pivotably secured to the cart or wheeled article. An actuator arm extends outwardly from a distal end portion of the torque shaft, with the actuator arm slidably engaging the proximal end portion of the brake lever. The torque shaft and the actuator arm are rotatable together to urge the brake lever toward the braking or non-braking position.

A fully-electric lift vehicle comprises a base, a battery, a scissor lift movable between an extended position and a retracted position, a work platform the scissor lift, a linear actuator including an electric motor powered by the battery, an electromagnetic brake coupled to the electric motor; and a manual release coupled to the electromagnetic brake so that, in the event of a power failure, actuation of the manual release enables the scissor lift to descend toward the retracted position. The electric motor is configured to act like a generator and reduce a descent speed of the scissor lift during the descend toward the retracted position.
