Additively-manufactured brake pad assembly with controlled compressibility factor
A brake pad assembly having a consolidated lining comprised of an enhancement framework disposed within a tribological lining, the enhancement framework and tribological lining having substantially the same compressibility factor. The enhancement framework or tribological lining may advantageously be manufactured using an additive manufacturing technique.
FRICTION PAD BODY
A friction pad body having a backing part and a friction part, which integrally consist of the same ceramic material, without a seam and joint. The ceramic material has a purity of at least 80% in relation to the total weight of the friction pad body. The friction pad body is preferably produced in the form of a sintered body by isostatic pressing so that a single-stage production process can be achieved.

FRICTION MATERIAL COMPOSITION, FRICTION MATERIAL, AND FRICTION MEMBER
There are provided a friction material composition containing no copper or having a reduced content of copper that can provide a friction material in which the stability of the friction coefficient after standing in a cold environment, the abrasion resistance, and the low rust fixation properties are excellent, and squeal (particularly low temperature squeal) is suppressed, and a friction material obtained by molding the friction material composition, and a friction member using the friction material. The friction material composition is specifically a friction material composition comprising a bonding material, an organic filler, an inorganic filler, and a fiber substrate, in which the friction material composition comprises no copper, or has a content of copper of less than 0.5% by mass in terms of a copper element even if comprising the copper, and comprises, as the organic filler, cashew particles to which a silicone resin adheres.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING A BRAKING BAND FOR A BRAKE DISC MADE OF TITANIUM, BRAKING BAND, AND BRAKE DISC MADE OF TITANIUM
A method for manufacturing a braking band may include providing a braking band with a base band having an upper face and a lower face, where the base band being is made of titanium or titanium alloy. The method may also include directly depositing a material in particulate form consisting of ceramic and metal and/or intermetallic particles above at least the upper face and/or the lower face so to create an upper coating layer and/or lower coating layer. A braking band for a brake disc may have a base band entirely made of titanium alloy and having an upper face and a lower face, an upper coating layer, and a lower coating layer joined to the base band along the lower face. The upper coating layer and the lower coating layer consist of a mixture of ceramic and metal and/or intermetallic particles.
Lift fan clutch plate for preventing blade tilt
A clutch for a lift fan is configured such that in an engaged position, two output clutch plates are in frictional communication with input clutch plates and a load is transferred from an input shaft to an output shaft via the two output clutch plates, the input clutch plates and an output shaft lug key, and in a disengaged position each of the two output clutch plates are axially displaced from input clutch plate. A metallic clip is coupled to the outer periphery of the output clutch plate. The metallic clip defines a key way in the output clutch plate.
BRAKE PAD BACKING PLATE
A coated backing plate for a brake pad and method of manufacturing a brake pad having a coated backing plate, where the coating for the backing plate includes a bond layer. The bond layer includes an inboard surface, an outboard surface, a closed pore network toward the outboard surface that faces the inboard surface of the reinforcement plate, and an open pore network at the inboard surface of the bond layer. The open pore network includes a recessed topology having a plurality of craters configured to interlock a friction material of a friction pad or one or more intermediate layers, such as a transition layer and/or a thermal barrier layer.

A method for making a braking band (2) for a brake disc (1) for a disc brake, comprising the following steps: a) preparing a mold (10) having an inner cavity (11), which comprises a first portion (11a) of a shape corresponding to the braking band (2) to be made; b) preparing a band preform (20) comprising a central layer (200) made of porous ceramic material comprising silicon carbide (SiC), an upper outer layer (201) and a lower outer layer (202), said upper outer layer (201) and said lower outer layer (202) being made of porous ceramic material comprising silicon carbide (SiC) and infiltrated with silicon (SiC+Si), said upper outer layer (201) and said bottom outer layer (202) being arranged in an opposing way and on opposite sides of the central layer (200); c) placing said band preform (20) inside the mold at the first portion (11a) of said inner cavity (11); and d) injecting a liquid or semi-solid aluminum alloy inside the entire inner cavity (11) of the mold (11) so as to infiltrate only the central layer (200) of said band preform (20) made of porous ceramic material with said aluminum alloy, obtaining at the first portion (11a) an aluminum metal matrix composite reinforced by said central preform (200) which defines the braking band (2) to be made. A braking band and a brake disc are made at least with the aforesaid method.
Lift fan clutch plate with improved axial positioning
A clutch for a lift fan with input and output shafts on a common rotational axis, connected by disc shaped output clutch plates oriented normal to the axis. A keyway extends radially inward from a mouth at an outer diameter of each output clutch plate to a seat at an inner diameter of the respective clutch plate. At least one output shaft lug key may be positioned in the keyway and extends axially from one output clutch plate to the other output clutch plate, which couples the rotation of the output clutch plates to the rotation the output shaft and allows axial movement of the two output clutch plates relative the output shaft lug key, the output shaft has an outer radial surface and an inner radial surface. At least one input clutch plate positioned axially between the two output clutch plates and rotationally fixed to the input shaft.
