METHOD FOR PRODUCING A GRAY CAST IRON BRAKE DISK
A brake disk, the main body of which has been produced from gray cast iron, is coated on its annular brake surfaces with a metallic coating by way of laser deposition welding. In the coating, which includes a welding material with an austenitic structure or at least structural components, a state of internal compressive stress is set by plastic deformation which affects the external outer layer thereof and in one form is performed by a rolling tool.
Composite drive shafts
A drive shaft is for selectively connecting a drive input to an output. The drive shaft has a tubular portion, a first diaphragm member, and a second diaphragm member displaced axially along the shaft from the first diaphragm member. The first and second diaphragm members each are formed with two axial ends. At least one undulation extends radially of the ends. The tubular portion connects the first and second diaphragm members. The first and second diaphragm members and the tubular portion are formed of fiber-reinforced polymer matrix composites. The first and second diaphragm members are connected to first and second axial ends of the tubular portion through a mechanical connection at joints. There is also a method of forming a drive shaft.
BRAKE PAD BACKING PLATE
A backing plate for a brake pad that helps improve attachment of the friction pad. The backing plate has a multi-layered structure including a locking plate and a reinforcement plate. Locking holes or locking rings in the locking plate create an undercut portion at mold holes in the reinforcement plate to help mechanically lock the friction material of the brake pad. In some embodiments, retention holes and/or locking rails can be provided to help further retain the friction pad by increasing the available surface area for bonding. Additionally, the retention holes and/or locking rails can help decrease the weight of the backing plate by minimizing the overall size of the locking plate.
DISC FOR A MULTI-DISC CLUTCH, MULTI-DISC CLUTCH HAVING THE DISC, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE DISC
Multi-disc clutches are known which usually have a first clutch pack consisting of steel discs and a second clutch pack consisting of friction discs. A disc for a multi-disc clutch is proposed, which has a disc body. The disc body is in a form of an annular disc, and has a driver contour on its inner circumference and/or outer circumference for mounting the disc in a rotationally fixed manner. The disc body is formed by edgewise rolling on the inner circumference thereof.
Brake disk and method for producing a brake disk
A brake disk for a wheel brake of a land vehicle includes a main body formed from gray cast iron. The main body has at least one axial friction side, at least one anti-corrosion layer applied to the axial friction side, and at least one anti-abrasion layer applied to the anti-corrosion layer. The anti-corrosion layer is a duplex steel layer that provides a cost-effective coating for the brake disk and enables improved corrosion resistance. The anti-abrasion layer is wear resistant and is provided by a SiC material containing at least one oxidic or metallic binder, or by an iron-based alloy having a vanadium carbide reinforcement, a niobium carbide reinforcement, a boron carbide reinforcement, a chromium carbide reinforcement or combinations thereof.
ACTUATING DEVICE FOR A COUPLING DEVICE, COUPLING DEVICE HAVING SUCH AN ACTUATING DEVICE AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SUCH AN ACTUATING DEVICE
A hydraulic actuating device for a coupling device having an actuating piston, a piston chamber assigned to the actuating piston and a supply chamber which is arranged further inwards in the radial direction than the piston chamber and via which a hydraulic fluid can be supplied to the piston chamber, wherein the supply chamber is delimited in a first axial direction by a first housing part and in a second axial direction opposite to the first axial direction by a second housing part, and the first housing part is fastened to a hub. The first housing part is fastened to the hub by clamping the second housing part in the axial direction between the first housing part and the hub. Furthermore, the present invention relates to a coupling device having such an actuating device as well as a method for manufacturing such an actuating device.
Brake disk and method for producing a brake disk
A method for producing a brake disk for a wheel brake of a land vehicle includes laser depositing a duplex steel anti-corrosion layer to an axial friction side of a main body produced from gray cast iron at a surface speed of more than 10 m/min and applying an anti-abrasion layer to the anti-corrosion layer.
Torque Transmission Shaft
A torque transmission shaft includes a shaft and a clamp. The shaft includes: a male serration in one axial end portion; a slit in the other axial end portion, the slit axially extending and having a closed end on one side and an open end on the other side; a fitting cylinder portion in the other axial end portion; and a female serration provided in of the other axial end portion. The clamp includes: a discontinuous portion arranged at one place in the circumferential direction; a pair of flange portions arranged on both sides of the discontinuous portion; a connecting portion connecting the flange portions; and an insertion hole for fitting cylinder portion. The clamp is fitted onto the fitting cylinder portion to reduce the diameter of the fitting cylinder portion by narrowing the width dimension of the discontinuous portion.
Disc brake for utility vehicles
The invention relates to a disc brake (1) for utility vehicles, having a brake caliper, a brake disc (37), an actuating lever (4) arranged axially to a disc brake axis (A) of the brake disc (37), an adjusting device (36) comprising an adjusting spindle (12), a pressure collar (13) and an adjusting spindle head (27), wherein the adjusting device (36) is arranged at least partially within an interior (7) of the brake caliper (2), a primary seal (8) for sealing the interior (7) of the brake caliper (2), an annular space (10), which is delimited by an inner wall (6) of a through-opening (19) of the brake caliper (2) and the adjusting device, and a secondary seal (9) for at least partially sealing the interior (7) of the brake caliper (2), characterized in that the primary seal (8) and the secondary seal (9) are designed as a piston protection cap (14).
FORMATION OF SELECTIVELY REINFORCED COMPONENTS
A selectively reinforced component comprises a metal body with at least one metal matrix composite insert embedded in a first surface of the metal body, with at least one weld bonding an outer surface of the metal matrix composite insert to the metal body. The selectively reinforced component is formed by introducing the or each metal matrix composite insert into a recess in the first surface of the metal body, before forming the at least one weld to bond the outer surface of the metal matrix composite insert to an opposing inner peripheral surface of the recess.
