SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR RATIONALIZING TORQUE PHASE RATIO VALUES IN A VEHICLE PROPULSION CONTROL SYSTEM

A propulsion system controller for a vehicle that includes a prime mover operable for generating an input torque on an input shaft, and a transmission connected to the prime mover that is configured to receive the input torque from the input shaft and produce an output torque on an output shaft. The controller is programmed to generate a torque phase ratio, rationalize the generated torque phase ratio, and submit a torque request to the prime mover that is based upon a desired output torque divided by the rationalized torque phase ratio.

Disclosed is a method for protecting a vehicle clutch, including a check step for checking the mileage of a vehicle and the number of times a clutch wear compensation device is operated; after the check step, a calculation step for calculating a clutch thermal severity level, which indicates the degree of thermal severity of the clutch, based on the mileage and the number of times the wear compensation device is operated; and a control step for controlling at least one of the shifting pattern of the vehicle and engine RPM depending on the clutch thermal severity level, after the calculation step.

Vehicle, control apparatus for vehicle, and control method for vehicle

In engaging (connecting) a dog clutch by operating a synchromesh mechanism, when there occurs an uplock at the time when a first pressing force is caused to act on a hub sleeve, tooth tips of spline teeth of the hub sleeve contact with tooth tips of spline teeth of a synchronizer ring, and these spline teeth cannot be engaged. However, when a second pressing force is caused to act on the hub sleeve, the uplock is easy to be released. In addition, when torque from an engine is caused to act on the hub sleeve, a displacement is caused to occur in a rotation direction between the mutually contacting spline teeth. Thus, the uplock is reliably released.

A vehicle control system is provided which includes a travel controller working to execute a coasting mode to cut transmission of drive power, as produced by an engine to a drive wheel of the vehicle when a given execution condition is encountered while the vehicle is traveling. The travel controller determines a threshold value, as used for comparison with a position of an accelerator, based on the speed of the vehicle. When the position of the accelerator is determined to be smaller than the threshold value, the travel controller executes the coasting mode. This improves the fuel economy in the vehicle without sacrificing traveling of the vehicle according to a driver's operation on the accelerator.

A power take-off (PTO) drive assembly for a transmission includes a shaft defining a shaft axis, a PTO gear defined radially about the shaft axis, and a clutch assembly positioned between the shaft and the PTO gear and having an engaged position and a disengaged position. When the clutch assembly is in the engaged position, torque is transferred from the shaft to the PTO gear. When the clutch assembly is in the disengaged position, torque is not transferred from the shaft to the PTO gear.

Method and Device for Operating a Motor Vehicle, and Motor Vehicle

The disclosure relates to a method for operating a motor vehicle that includes a drive unit, an output unit, and a clutch arranged between the drive unit and the output unit and configured to transmit a torque. A detection unit detects an operating state of the drive unit. When the operating state of the drive unit is in an overrun mode, a control unit controls a clutch slip, which results in adjustment of the torque that can be transmitted as a function of a speed of the motor vehicle. The disclosure further relates to a device for operating a motor vehicle, and to a motor vehicle that includes such a device.

Control device for vehicle driving device

A control device for controlling a vehicle driving device provided with a transmission apparatus including a plurality of engagement devices in a power transmission path between a driving force source and a wheel and selectively forming a plurality of transmission shift stages having different transmission shift ratios depending on engagement states of the plurality of engagement devices.
