A damper is at least partially disposed in the chamber. Each damper extends into the interior space along a respective longitudinal axis. Each damper has an outer end disposed at a fixed position relative to the outer layer and an inner end disposed longitudinally opposite the outer end in the interior space. The protector includes a plurality of separate engagement members corresponding to the plurality of dampers. Each engagement member is disposed at the inner end of the corresponding damper and is configured to engage the body part of the user. Each damper includes a plurality of compressible damper elements concentrically arranged about the longitudinal axis.
Mesostructural Reset Unit
A reset unit for resetting rotational and/or translational deflection movements of a setting element is provided. The reset unit has an ordered mesostructure of elementary cells consisting of an ordered arrangement of at least two elementary cells, wherein the at least two elementary cells each have at least one pore, which allows the elementary cells to be reversibly compressed and expanded through exposure to force, wherein a reset force of the reset unit can be at least partially generated by deforming the mesostructure.
Composite Wave Springs
A wave spring comprises fiber in a thermoplastic resin matrix, and includes one or more annular wave-springs elements, or one or more curvilinear wave-spring elements. The annular wave-spring elements, which are arrayed in a stack, are not coupled to one another. A wave spring comprising annular wave-spring elements includes an alignment feature for establishing and maintaining the alignment of the wave spring elements. In a wave spring including curvilinear wave-spring elements, a first end of each curvilinear wave-spring element is attached to a first member and a second end of each curvilinear wave-spring element is attached to a second member, the plurality of curvilinear wave-spring elements being disposed between the two members. The plurality of curvilinear wave-spring elements in the array are positioned side by side, the array extending laterally along a length of the first member and second member, and providing a low-profile wave spring.
Energy absorbing systems
The present disclosure relates to flexible energy absorbing systems and body armor, helmets and protective garments incorporating flexible energy absorbing systems. A flexible energy absorbing system may comprise a first plurality of cells having a first re-entrant geometry and a second plurality of cells having a second, different geometry. The first plurality of cells and the second plurality of cells may comprise an elastomeric material.
Bi-linear energy dissipating and shock absorbing device for cable subjected to tension
A device (1) comprises: a cylindrical shell (4); a first spring (5) encased inside the cylindrical shell (4); a second spring (6) encased inside the cylindrical shell (4); a separator (13) in the cylindrical shell (4) separating the first and second springs (5, 6); a first end plate (12) on a first side (13a) of the separator (13) and a second end plate (11) on a second side (13b) of the separator (13); a first rod (2) and a second rod (3) passing openings (20a, 20b) provided at each end of the cylindrical shell (4), with the first rod (2) connected to the first end plate (12) and the second rod (3) connected to the second end plate (11); and a spacer (14) inserted between the first end plate (12) and the first spring (5).
Damper unit, a damper assembly, methods of making a damper unit and a damper assembly
A damper unit for use in a vibration-reducing assembly for a steering wheel is disclosed. An elastomeric damper element is molded on an inner sleeve and includes a plurality of elastomeric ribs forming a radially outer engagement surface, and a plurality of elastomeric support studs, which are mutually spaced in a circumferential direction are flexible in all directions transverse to said axis. Methods for making a damper unit and a damper assembly are also disclosed.
